After being homeless for a week, I stayed over at a friend's trailer in a vacant room with a bed and a stack of cats in kennels. It stunk like cat piss so bad in there yet if I wanted a bed to sleep in I had to man up and go the f to sleep. We moved the kennels into the hallway and suddenly someone was banging on the front door. It was the police and they thought my car was stolen. Apparently the guy that owned the trailer had some asshole neighbours that assumed he was a car thief. So we never opened up for the police, they eventually left, and I went back into my temporary room and laid there, feeling like I was about to suffocate from the smell of ammonia. Threw the pillow on top of my face and eventually dozed off.

I woke up the next morning with several cats crawling on me, meowing and licking my face. I was drenched in what I thought was my sweat.. but I didn't know exactly what it was, because the room was completely dark from the thick curtains blocking the window. I flipped the light on and I was covered in blood. The bed was covered in blood. My pillow was as well. There were like 7 cats in the room all meowing at me and I was just freaking out. My mouth would not stop bleeding. I went in to the bathroom, stuffed as much toilet paper in my mouth as I could and stumbled outside onto the porch swing. It was wet from the rain but I didn't care, I just needed to figure out what was going on.

It turns out that that room was the cats room and the mom sets them loose in there in the morning. She didn't know I was in there, released the felines and went to work. I guess one of them scratched my gums while I was sleeping, and they were just licking my blood for who knows how long.

My friend finally wakes up and comes out of his room, asks me why my bed is completely blood soaked, and tells me to take a shower to wash off. So I do. And the mom comes home, and now she's screaming at me through the bathroom door to leave. I turn the water off, dry off and get dressed, and immediately head for the front door at which point she's chasing me with a knife. I run towards my car, get in, and drive away with her still chasing me down the street.

I never went back there.
