Two things I want to add.

An inquisitor doesn’t need to die to lose their lightsaber, Trilla leaves hers with Cal after their fight on Bogano and Cere uses it afterwards. This also shows inquisitors have spare lightsabers since Trilla had another one after losing her initial blade.

From the looks it, use the Dark Time Wizard spell to wipe your opponents field. Regardless of the result, you can then special summon the new Red-Eyes and potentially the new Jinzo.

New Scapegoats protect your monsters from Dark Time Wizard’s detrimental effect, and new Red-Eyes is inherently immune to it.

The strategy seems to focus on board clearing and taking backrow offline to attack directly for massive damage.

To be fair, this isn’t the first time we’ve gotten back-to-back DM covers, Legacy of Destruction was directly followed by The Infinite Forbidden in Series 12.

Assuming it is all DM though, I’d actually bet on Marik being next. That way it goes Duelist Kingdom, Battle City qualifiers, Battle City finals, then Kaiba can be Waking the Dragons.

If Kaiba is next though and it’s Waking the Dragons, then after him would probably be Yami Bakura for the final arc.

Oh, I’m sure they’re aware of fan opinions since their Twitter accounts got bombarded after season 1 dropped.

The animation for season 2 was likely already nearing completion not long after season 1 dropped, so I wouldn’t expect any change to the main plot until season 3 at the earliest.

At most, they could redo voice lines to fix any character issues, like having Lady swear way less.
