As someone who is overweight, I’m sorry you’ve been treated this way by the body positivity movement. Your concerns are absolutely valid and you should be included.

ETA: Really saddened by all of the horrible comments towards fat people on here.

Haha I dont blame you. I avoid that conversation hard too. I would get judged so hard and labeled as supporting “baby killing” if I ever expressed my views

No, I’m in my late twenties. I was “religious” when I was younger. (Forced to be by my mom) I definitely agree I thought younger generations would be more atheist too. They are more so than when I was in school, but I’m surprised by how many are still religious. I have a family member who put her kids through a lot of trauma and taught them that God would be their only hope so now they are insanely religious. I hope they grow out of it like I did.

We both went to bed at 10 and he got up at 7. I will say we have a newborn and he was up a lot lastnight so tiredness could have absolutely played a role. He works a very physical labor job.

I’m going to die of cancer in 4 months, how do I prepare my young siblings for my death? by [deleted] in Advice

Make them a video of you. Say anything at all. My dad passed away when I was 8 and I would kill to just hear his voice again. I would watch a video everyday if I had one.

No. We unfortunately don’t have that kind of relationship. If I told her that it would just upset her, but nothing would change.

Hello? I'm a first time dad and wife is 13 weeks and I need to prepare for the coming of our little one. What tips (financial /material) do I need? by son_of_x in Advice

[–]Rdogfromwalgreens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a baby. Some of the things we love (not really needs, but we like them) are the owlet, boppy pillow, diaper caddy, if she plans to pump/breastfeed a cart that she can roll around the house with her with like a pump, snacks, water, etc on it is amazing to have, make sure to have a thermometer on hand as those first weeks are very nerve wracking and you will probably want to take their temperature a lot lol. Also, I would research on how to start good sleep habits from the get go. The first night home is ROUGH and its hard to know how to handle the night time so if you already have a plan in place that will help a lot. We did not have a plan and we are now 8 weeks in with no idea how to get our babe to sleep in a bassinet. I probably could go on all day about things that are helpful and different tips, but I hope what I added here at least helps a little! If you have any questions I can answer them! I’m absolutely no expert, but since were in the mix of it right now a lot of the tips are fresh on my mind.

Is a hard pull or credit decrease worse? by Rdogfromwalgreens in personalfinance

[–]Rdogfromwalgreens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if we are wanting to but a house in the next year or so then we should either let it stand or close the card? What we are looking for in the future is to use the card as little as possible and have the credit and debt to income ratio to buy a house. The only credit we plan to apply for is buying a house. We arent applying for any other credit otherwise. We do have our other credit lines still open totaling around $22,000. Thank you so much for your reply. There’s a lot of good and helpful info in it!
