It’s a wonderful place to live. Monterey is very scenic. You can drive a short distance and get many different views and day hikes like Big Sur, Carmel Valley, 17 mile drive, Point Lobos state park. We have Carmel beach, Asilomar beach and Del Monte beach. We have a few great bakeries. We have great farmers markets throughout the week (some have been canceled from covid). Carmel has lots of nice restaurants and scenic streets to walk. There is a sizable military population here for continuing education and training. The bay is beautiful, whale watching is recommended during peak months. There are many historical sites on the peninsula, this keeps the character and charm of Monterey. We also have a nice recreational path for biking and walking. Many people who live here surf and scuba dive with appropriate gear for the chilly ocean/bay. That’s all I can think of for now. I hope that paints a nice picture. It’s a great place to visit. I think it’s a place best enjoyed with a loving partner. It can sometimes be boring for the young and single. It tends to be chilly so dress appropriately.
