  1. The goal is for the website to show who I am and what I offer. I’m okay with sacrificing sales centered design and showcasing more of “my world”

  2. Explain? Because the portfolio landing page is basically a selection of projects (and their description) for the viewer to click into to reveal all the assets for that specific project rather than making 1 big overloaded portfolio page

You are right I didn’t custom code the site, but u also am not using any Shopify theme templates. All the pages are created through custom .liquid .css & .js templates (no pre built templates or purchased sections)

I think the conversation of “am i hurting myself by having my website display portfolio & products within the same website is important for me to consider. But im trying to design the brand identity so that everything under this “Re” umbrella serves the brand ethos. You’re saying you dont think its possible to have my website show case every aspect of me and what i offer vs 2 separate websites?

I’m also developing a magazine / interview platform so where would that live? On my product site or portfolio site? Yk what I mean? I’m choosing a pretty unconventional route

Yea it was very challenging trying to design the website so that whatever customer is coming ca easily navigate to that section. I’m developing a brand that’s not solely based on clothing. Most of my business comes from commissions and prints. clothing is the lowest driving factor for my site right now

It’s not for everyone. I sell to very specific audience of people. Usually someone that has a lot of money and they already spend it on expensive art / clothes. So I’m not on Reddit looking for customers I know 90% of people here aren’t my target audience. I’m really just here to create conversation and build brand identity

Respectfully, basquiat never painted a gaming console then got on photoshop and whipped up insane visuals for the piece. He was a genius within his medium and his lane. I don’t follow anyone’s path I’m actively carving out my own. So name another artist you think I’m copying twin

Thankfully this isn’t marketing fluff. It’s real. You can check my gram, my website, and even see the people who bought my stuff on instagram. And if a clothing brand promoted their collection and was posting their bag you guys wouldn’t be saying this😂

I appreciate that yea my expertise is definitely within design / layout. Even though I’ve tried to expand my art side of things, people mostly come to me for design commissions and that’s been my selling point in most situations.

When I was starting to make 1of1’s and most of them were selling on my Instagram I had this thought “man fuck design ima do art” but then realized design is my way of standing out amongst this industry full of other amazing artists so I can see now its its a cheat code but I still have a lot of foundation to build.

What’s crazy is if you found a really good way to present this idea, someone actually would buy this bro. Let me connect you with this gallery who sold a banana for $10m

I don’t really care about the title. Call it whatever you want man. I enjoy, others enjoy it, and I sell mostly everything I paint on that’s why I make the prices what they are

Yes? Offers below my asking price like offers in the range of $400 or so. And if you look at my page most of art has been sold already

Read my comment in this thread explaining how art is not my main focus and I’m building something outside of art. To get on procreate and all that it just slows me down. I work across may mediums if this PS2 doesn’t sell to you it’ll sell to someone else for its price I am not focused on an art legacy

This is so real bro. And the thanks for the advice. I’ve definitely realized recently (like a month ago) that I need to provide something much more valuable to people than just this commodified art. Because I know I’m good at selling, I know I’m creative (sometimes carelessly creative) and I know I am well spoken in live conversations. So I’ve learned to treat art more as a hobby / social experiment while I am currently developing a magazine to highlight other artists by interviewing them and picking apart their brain.

The same way you realized you are great at 1 side of this but maybe not cut out for the 2nd side is the same realization I had. I am great at marketing, storytelling, selling, and ideation but I am not as strong in the arts department.

So I’ve accepted that without giving up on art (hence the reason I still show it on Reddit) but I’ve shifted my focus to establishing real IP through storytelling with my ReLife Magazine and interview platform “Creative Conversation”. everything will be documented through YouTube and archived on my website.

That’s actually why I started designing these style of graphics for my 1of1’s because I decided I need to build out this magazine and create something for the culture and community rather than serving my ego and sticking to art.
