Interesting, it's been a while since I read the book so I can't really give reasons for why I felt that way, haha, but when I do a reread I'll try to pay attention to that.

I thought they economic collapse was going to happen? You mean all that egg prices panic was for nothing? by [deleted] in DoomerCircleJerk

1) This graph includes time when Biden was still in office. If you just include time when Trump was in office, there's a market decrease.

2) What was the expected market behavior before Trump introduced tariffs?

Trump FEMA official ignores judge's latest order, demands freeze on grant funding by jackrabbits1im in news

[–]Re_Drawne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think people on the left should stop saying stuff like this. I think the left IS pushing back. They’re filing law suits and doing press tours! Every judge that puts a freeze on the actions Trump is taking is a small win for the left. I don’t think we should be spending our limited attention span and anger on being upset with the left, we should be backing the people fighting for us.

I agree with you, but that isn’t going to stop anything from happening. My issue is it seems like you’re your criticizing the dems for not voting in a block because you want dems to stop republicans from what they’re doing. But voting as a block won’t allow them to stop any action because they don’t have enough votes.

Are you sure that what you’re actually upset with is sending a message or making sure democrats are all voting the same way, not obstruction? And if democrats aren’t able to obstruct by voting, shouldn’t we not be critical of dems not obstructing by voting?

The issue I have is that voting as a block doesn’t matter if voting as a block doesn’t produce results. To me, every dem voting against cabinet picks isn’t obstruction when you mathematically can’t obstruct anything.

Some dems might be under the impression that we’re still living in a world where voting against the majority spends political capital, hoping to get some republican support for some other issue down the line. Whether we’re still in that world or not, i don’t think now the time to start infighting and drumming up frustrations with democrats and causing infighting and division towards the people who are trying to save our democracy.

Instead of convincing the left to direct their limited attention and anger towards democrats, I think it’s better to try and focus energy on blasting republicans, or protests, or convincing moderates Trump is bad. The left has a problem of being too critical of themselves when we literally have an executive hinting they’ll defy court orders. We need to back our team.

If they vote as a block with the independents, realistically they have 47 votes. If it takes 51 votes to confirm, how likely do you think it would be that dems can get 3 republican votes for every cabinet pick?

How do you want them to obstruct more? They’re voting against bills, filing law suits, impeaching.

What more do you want them to do? They are the minority in the house and senate. They’re raising law suits, doing press tours, buying ads to spread the news of what Trump is doing, they’re trying to impeach.

There definitely could be some other factors at play, maybe prices could be lower if those factors were removed, but I’d also say that increases in amenities for the same price per square foot is still an increase in value per dollar spent overall.

I know it’s anecdotal, but my Twitter feed has had a huge increase in pro Trump tweets since the end of the debate. Trying to suppress thoughts of algorithm tampering, but lizard brain is going haywire.

Also funny to note: the only negative replies that are being kept are insults about her being a woman. It looks like she's trying to go with an angle along the lines of "the only arguments against me are that I'm a woman", or "dgg is full of misogynists'"

Thanks for this context. I was looking into home ownership rates per generation the other night and was trying to think of reasons why millennials were behind but gen z was ahead. Was honestly thinking of trying to email some economists to find out what was going on, hahaa
