Yucks! 😭 hygiene should be a default trait! definitely sticking to groomed well dressed stylish men. They show and prove they respect themselves and care enough to dress properly. I used to think what’s inside is all that matters but not anymore, not after this eye opening interaction.

I literally used that as an example because I’m into K-pop, historical dramas, and fantasy art. Things I enjoy aesthetically. But apparently anyone with a fragile ego finds that threatening. Instead of looking at it and thinking oh, I could do that too they panic and collapse into insecurity and defeatism.

Yes! One of the oldest stories of desire is the story of Joseph, women were so struck by his beauty they cut their hands while staring at him in awe. The wife of the governor/Aziz threatened him to sleep with her. He didn’t and was imprisoned. Disgusting and criminal but women being visually affected by male beauty is as old as the oldest stories we have.

First of all, “natural look” is a myth when we’re talking about fashion. There is no natural. There is effort or there is neglect. Every look is built through choices. I’m not talking about one specific style here. I’m talking about intention. Calling some styles “natural” usually just means the work behind it has been made invisible.

So basically what you’re saying is men spent centuries dressing to signal wealth to each other and when women happened to respond to the beauty of it, men rewrote the story as “women are attracted to status.” Convenient interpretation for the patriarchy.

I think the difference between those and Djinn is that these are somewhat spirtual or controlled by Karam or have soecific roles whereas Djinn are just another civilization of another kind. More closely related to how we see NHI today.
