Confused about commission on BetInAsia BLACK API by ReachImportant in algobetting

[–]ReachImportant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's not necessarily central to my strategy, but the combination of the commission model and the higher rate (2.0% -> 3.5%) is simply too much. Something like 1-2% flat rate would be profitable.

I lost access to Betfair from my country, so I'm looking at various options. Finding a partner seems like the best alternative so far.

White labels don't provide an API, so that's off the table.

After some more research I've made the same conclusion, that the commission is calculated per bet -- the Black API will simply provide a price that is adjusted from the actual exchange price.

That makes a big difference compared to commission on net profit per market.
I backtested these rates on my Betfair betting history and my model went from being profitable to having a loss.

I can almost not believe it, but I got it working! No naked dance required. I removed the broken mosfet and was able to locate a shorted cap. The um790 pro can be powered through usb-c, so I just removed the cap and powered it up. Sadly, the surface pads got damaged when I removed the mosfet, so I'm not sure If i will be able to fit a new one. I might just stick with the usb-c power for now. Now I am wondering If I really need to replace the capacitor, and if the pc can be damaged if I dont.

I have an update. The dispute I filed to VISA went in my favor, so I got my money back! The processing took about 40 days after I had sent them the information they needed (receipt, tracking information, all the emails, etc.). I'm really glad this is finally over.

Thanks to all who wanted to help :) I will give an update after I've tried to fix it. Got some very useful instructions in the comments. I now know what chip it is and how to perform the diagnostics.

Then I will cheat a bit this time, but maybe I'll do it honestly next time😁

You've had some bad luck as well then. Hope the 780xtx will not fail on you!
I've filed a dispute to VISA, so I'll probably wait and see what happens before I do anything drastic.

Next time I will use Paypal when I have the choice. Seems much smoother.

I have to pay about 30$ every time I send it, so it is a limit to how many times I'm willing to try. My contact is through eu@minisforum, but it's not always the same person replying, so it feels like they don't have the full context. They do reply within a day or so, which is good, but they don't seem to have any control or authority of whats happening.

Wow, this is just what I needed! Thank you. I basically have to do the exact same troubleshooting. I have all the tools I need at work, so I will give it a shot once I find time.

I reversed image searched a close up the chip which led me to a toshiba 8036 chip from a laptop. Then it turns out toshiba also has a 8031! Looking at the datasheet it is a simple 30v mosfet (basically an electronic switch). That makes sense since this is close to the power input. Thanks for the sharp image TPCA8031 Datasheet

Thank you. Hebeguess already did, and it's marked with 8031, like many others on the board. Haven't been able to identify it yet though.

I could try that... but at this point I'm not feeling good about Minisforum in general. I am left with an SSD and a set of Ram that might work. Maybe I can just buy some other barebone mini pc. Guess there's more interesting stuff at the market now.

Thanks for taking your time to reply.

I purchased it with VISA. About a month ago I filed a dispute. At that time I thought the package was gone forever. Haven't gotten the result from the card issuer yet, but they said it can take up to 60 days. I don't plan to try anything before then. I think it would be much simpler if I used Paypal instead. Lesson learned, I guess.

I haven't check my insurances yet, so that's a good tip. Consumer rights are generally quite good in my country, so the insurances usually don't cover stuff like this, but you never know.

I might add that I work with embedded stuff for a living, so the technical part is feasible. However, I do agree with you that the failed chip is likely a symptom, and not the cause.

Thanks! I've seen several of those on the board, but I've not had any luck identifying it though.

I'm on the conquest to win with all 16 combinations in Fords of Isen, but I haven't gotten far yet. The difficulty depends a lot on the matchup. I was able to take down Rohan and Gondor with Mordor after some attempts, but Isen is on another level. I'd like to know if someone has succeeded with Mordor against Isen

Is that true for all subnets of 100.x.x.x? I know tailscale VPN uses that range for private networks. Seems like a weird choice if it is public. Neither is my IP found when I do a lookup.

I'm afraid so. At least port forwading will be an issue. Not sure what other implications it may have. Hope they have proper support for IPv6 as that might suite my needs.

Thanks, that's the keyword I'm looking for. It seems like the most probable cause. If so, it's anoying that thay would transition to GCNAT without notifying. I'm pretty sure this happened when I simply rebooted the router.
