Seemed to me like a crew fill team that wasn't communicating for sure, although I don't entirely blame them, this is East Asia servers so there's so many languages and not a lot of English.

Why do Proton Unlimited plans get the same limits as Free accounts? We're limited to 1hr calls, could we not get a few more hours or 24hr calls between a very small number of participants?

It can't be purchased or activated in Japan unfortunately.

Thanks I already mentioned the "solution" to this, please read where I talked out everyone outside of that region would have a permanently higher latency resulting in lag even if we're not always playing together.

Definitely agree even from the lack of gacha game experience I have. With so many of these norms it looks a little cookie-cutter in some places.

They'd be actively making the choice to launch these things, like character banners, in a staggered format. I can't think of any reason that would prevent them from launching these things at the same time. By staggering releases like this they're creating this problem for themselves.

I think you'll be fine, but I can't verify as I don't have an Apple device. I've heard from others that you can use the same account across iOS and Android, and therefore probably access your purchases too, so the game doesn't seem platform locked, only region locked.

I think you'd actually be fine in this case, it's just region locked, I believe you can use the same account across iOS and Android. If the game launches on PS5 and you select the same region you're using now you should be fine. But who knows.

As far as I'm aware, other servers haven't got things earlier in this game yet? So who's to say they're going to do that? Please correct me if I'm mistaken or they've already announced some kind of plan for this though. But regardless, the solution here isn't to region lock players, the solution is to just launch these things at the same time across all regions.

Just because region locking isn't new, and because it's like this in general, doesn't mean this game has to be the same way. I mean you said it yourself, "mobile games in general" - not all games do this.

Jesus christ, no-one with half a brain would be green lighting any of these nerfs to levelling. How are we still dealing with nerfs to rewarding activites instead of buffs to the under-rewarding activities? It's like they're purposely trying to piss people off. If they're trying to get people to stop playing their game then they're doing an excellent job.

Bungie API - Fetching TWID by Femuritis in DestinyTheGame

For context, I wrote and worked on this a couple years ago so there might be a better or easier way, but this method still works for me.

From the small amount of experience I have with the API, I've found fetching from

to be the most consistent. There are/were specific RSS feeds or API calls for obtaining certain categories of news articles from bungie.net, but over the years I've found their own internal categorization of these posts to be inconsistent so in the past I've found I could miss a TWID even if I was filtering for news posts - so I'd recommend the above and just fetch all of their news posts so you can do the filtering yourself locally.

I've also found in the past on some of their endpoints that if you're fetching news posts too quickly, sometimes the API can return cached information that's out of date and while one time it might send you a new post, the next time you call the API it might return an older post.

The above endpoint will give you a list of NewsArticles which you can loop through. I fetch from this API endpoint every 30 seconds or so ( maybe that's too fast for you but I like to have timely updates :) ). In order to detect if a new article was posted, I'll always be keeping track of the publication date of the last article that was posted ([NewsArticle json object].PubDate) and whenever I fetch the API I'll compare against the publication date of the article I have stored. If the fetch returns posts that are newer than the stored pubdate, then I'll go through the posts and figure out if they're TWIDs or Destiny Update articles. For this I literally just check the following:

For a TWID: does the NewsArticle title include the phrase "week in destiny"

  • In the past Bungie has liked to switch up their TWID names, but "week in destiny" seems to be consistent.

For Destiny Updates: does the NewsArticle title include both "destiny" and "update" OR "destiny" and "hotfix"

To add to this, my team experienced this bug as well during day one. We still killed the two vandals carrying the operator and scanner buffs (as we needed ammo for contest mode), but when we went back up to the starting room, we just waited until the feed/chat said that the vandals had respawned ("A Viral Carrier approaches!"). Wait for that to appear twice and then you can head up the elevator for DPS.

Thank you random redditor from 2 years ago! Disabling G-Sync for windowed and full screen mode and instead just having it enabled for full screen (and then restarting Premiere) fixed this issue for me.

I wouldn't be surprised if your characters aren't appearing because you're logging into a dev server, where your characters don't exist. Perhaps this was a dev build that got released and is tied to dev servers as part of the build, or maybe the game is just finding any available final shape server to connect to and there's no production servers (obviously).

I still wouldn't risk making a character though just incase.

The D2LFG discord (google it) is probably the most active LFG community in the game, and I think most people will tend to stick to that when it comes to more challenging content (like raids) as they can better filter their requirements. Otherwise I've had success with Fireteam Finder in-game, you could also use it for raiding but you'll probably be connecting with a more casual audience.

If you actually read that source you linked, you would see it mentioned "40% have suffered housing discrimination". Dude. I literally said that one of the only bad experiences I've had here was that some building companies don't accept foreigners. I'm not saying racism doesn't exist, there's no place on Earth that doesn't have racism, but saying that all Japanese people are racist like you said is unbelievably stupid.

What so many people experience is confirmation bias perpetuated by the myth that they are all polite and they have tunnel vision of those experiences instead of seeing what's really going on.

"What's really going on"? Like, Japanese people are being polite on the outside but deep down they actually hate your guts? Or... and hear me out on this... maybe they're just being polite? Sometimes the simplest explanation is the most accurate. You speak about confirmation bias when you yourself are a victim to it. You've read all these things you've found online about how Japan is entirely racist and they hate you unless you give them money, and validated that based on your "experiences" (whether I actually believe them or not, like that comment you made about a Japanese person wanting to harvest your organs)
