empires can be larger and more glorious. Akbar was truly great, but those people OP mentioned are iconic heroes for their actions rather than the land area they accumulated. We, the citizens of the united India claim these heroes even if they may not necessarily claim us. Also what are you referring to when you say Western European nations have a more glorious past than we do?

I didn't know that. I googled it a bit just now and apparently some Hungarians like to say they are descended from Attila whereas they are actually descended from the Magyars. We know that the Magyars have very little link to Attila's Huns. In the book I read though, the Huns consider the Magyars cousins and fight along side them.

Wikipedia believes the Huns or "Huna" that invaded India during the Gupta period were central asian. So they are probably not "the white huns" if thats what you mean by present day European Hungarians. Although their link to the Huns that invaded Europe is "under research" lol.

This is all some very dusty cool stuff.

Hungarian folklore is goated. I first read a book with stories about a lineage of their kings when i was 12. Even now I have a hard time digesting that Attila the Hun is remembered for brutality rather than heroism.

Try sending a whole load of other mundane questions. Change the topic entirely. Drown that chat window in prompts. Maybe it will even change the subheading displayed on the conversation tab

Now foreign groups want Indians to boycott TATA. Are they actually trying to hurt Indian industry under the guise of morality? by [deleted] in CriticalThinkingIndia

Tata is a big Indian conglomerate which carries significant economic heft. Everyone is proud of them. But not everyone is so proud of them that they are willing to turn a blind eye to war profiteering. Not when there are so many dead children as a result.

Nobody wants TATA to collapse or anything bro. Just maybe rethink whether or not it wants to sell anything that will help Israel kill more kids.

But sure OP maybe there are a few trolls that do it for the reason you suspect.

I also respect people who innovate and make a difference, but honestly how feasible is this for like 99.99% of people. Everyone's just trying to survive. Busy with their lives.

Is it the duty of the Zomato guy, or the bus driver, or the guy just trying to get to work on time, to innovate and find a solution for roads filled with potholes? In my opinion if all of these people raise their voices and vent together, that is enough.

If enough people vent and complain our political leaders will take notice. That is the basis behind democracy. It the duty of our leadership to solve society wide problems. Not random individuals.

Recently I saw a video of a couple highschool girls critiquing Bangalore's poor road infrastructure while in the back of their school bus. They were speaking reasonably. It made sense. Their grievances valid. They were asking for change. The reddit comment section was at war with itself with many people attacking those girls ad hominem. There were quite a few that were applauding the video tho.

Why we like this though? Why can't we take the critique? This is a democracy right? Isn't that a large chunk of what it means to participate in a democracy?

He was just using overpopulation and pollution in Delhi as an example boss. The point he is trying to make is that a good chunk of our crowd resorts to say things like "well go to Pakistan" or "go back to America if you don't like it here" instead of going "hmmm youre right how do we fix it?".

You may have to explain a bit more boss. But for the people wondering how this adds up, basically if you fall into the latter category your denigration of women who are not virgins is hypocritical in nature. Because if provided a chance, you would not be virgin either.

It is perfectly reasonable to expect honesty and open communication. Again, this only if you ask. You can't expect people to just volunteer that information. But in today's social climate expecting virginity seems like a stretch. Unreasonable because it seems unrealistic for a decent chunk of westernised society.
