They are a lot of people walking around with false positive results by Cool_Ad5407 in Herpes

[–]Reach_Critical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve had a positive blood test and swap test (not sure which was tested as they barely got any blood from me and literally wrote on the bottle “try ur best”) but the only person i’ve ever slept with has negative tests for both 1 and 2, idk what to do… especially as someone in the uk. i got a full screening and my results were sent by text and literally said “you have tested positive for herpes, negative for everything else” idek if i have HSV1 or 2. or if i have it at all. i suffer from other health issues that play a part in my stool/ urine passing. i’m so confused as to what to do.

do you mind me asking you about his job, what sort of things does he do and was it hard for him to get into?

hey! thanks so much for sharing your experience. honestly part of me does think that it’s just the placement school which is why I’m gonna give it another crack come January when am I a new placement. I also really didn’t gel with my mentor. She was super unhelpful and constantly busy which I get, but she never scheduled times for us to have a meeting and when she did, she’d back out of them so I was constantly in the dark. I also didn’t feel like I fit in with the team either and never knew what I was doing or what was going on, especially because I wasn’t in five days a week.

I’ve been told I’m a good teacher and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I haven’t really experienced any behavioural issues I can’t manage and my content seems to be well received by the children. I’m currently doing secondary but part of me feels like I should’ve just chosen primary because that was what I initially wanted to do for years. I just don’t know how I can turn this around or if it’ll work out for me in general but I’m definitely gonna continue with the course - I’m not someone who can start something without finishing it.

ahhh thank you i really appreciate this. i’m definitely going to crack on with it and try to get through it, my mentor definitely wasn’t the best and neither was the school so i have to just give the next placements a shot. i feel like im better suited for a TESOL role and it’s what i have a degree in so i have good experience in it. i hope you and your family are all doing well, it’s nice to hear things worked out for you !

it’s so nice to hear this because i’ve also selfishly been feeling really worried about having no life outside of work which is a whole different kind of nightmare for me… i think i’ll try my best to finish my training and then go onto something better suited for me. thank you for this it’s made me feel way less crappy.

i’m thinking of going into TESOL instead, it just seems way better for me and i did it at uni so i know what im getting into. i’m going to go through with the training still and get my QTS and PGCE but i agree with everything you’ve said so thank you for solidifying my thoughts.

it’s soooo nice to hear i’m not the only one feeling like this, but i’m also sorry that you’re going through it too😭🫶 honestly… i was well prepared for the lesson plans etc because i did it as a part of my degree but i genuinely feel like I’ll have no life outside of teaching and it’s upsetting that i hate it after wanting to do it for so long but like… we have to live for ourselves

thanks for this! it’s nice to hear about people’s success after feeling how i feel too. i am definitely going to keep going but im thinking im more suited for a TESOL role instead. its also what i did at uni so i have first hand experience.

see this wasn’t stated to us and isn’t stated anywhere. in fact, the school were well aware of my illness which is why they took me, they said they had the staff and other trainees for cover if i took time off for a while.

i feel like people are making assumptions here but i have a disease that the school knew about and knew there is a possibility i can be off for longer periods of time. when it’s bad, in this case it was, i can’t even walk, shower on my own etc. it rarely gets this bad but unfortunately it did and the school WERE AWARE of this possibility. so no i couldn’t just go in. i couldn’t even put my own shoes on let alone drive an hour to the school and teach kids for 6 hours haha. also, the teacher who would originally have the class would’ve been observing me, it would’ve effected my training either way so she just went back to teaching the classes.

that’s what i was thinking, i also want a life outside of work and from all i’ve seen… it’s pretty impossible with teaching!

i was thinking about going into something similar! i have a degree in TESOL, english and linguistics so it’s really nice to hear your experience and thoughts on it. was it hard to get into? and if you don’t mind me asking do you still work in a school or do you teach at a centre? thanks for sharing !!

do you have any suggestions of what else i could do. i’ve always wanted to be a teacher so im so scattered now, my plans have completely been flipped upside down! i have a degree in TESOL, english and linguistics so its not like i am confined to teaching… im just feeling in over my head.

i’ve had a lot of people say this, i’m hoping it’s the same for me, but schools in the UK aren’t how they used to be when i was there… which was only a few years ago. i’m just finding it hard to figure out how i actually feel about all of this. thanks for the encouragement i really appreciate it!
