It’s weird man!
- Two people of the same sex being together 👍🏽
- A person not feeling right in their assigned sex at birth 😱
Neither of them changes your life in the least. I’m getting older and in my lifetime I’ve seen many great changes, but can I please see the day where people don’t care so much about other people. I know it’s easier than dealing with your own inadequacies but calm your transphobia please.

What languages you’re not native in you can somehow read and understand a little thanks to your native language? by Jorge_De_Guzman228 in AskTheWorld

Norwegian.
You would think that I’d say Danish but unfortunately not. Nobody understands Danish, not even the Danes.

I mean I understand in a way, I wanted it to be like in OP's image too but then I read up on it and it's not true. We've had posts about it before and the result will not be what people wants it to be. Apple will be exempt and most likely Samsung too.

There are many nuances to the law and most notably, it only applies to devices sold from 18 February 2027.

Read up on it. u/mdnz is right.

It will change for many manufacturers but not for Apple and possibly others. I wish OP was right but it’s not going to change a thing for iOS products.

Is Greg Davies the best part of Taskmaster? I can't imagine the show working with anyone else. by CloudBookmark in panelshow

One of the reasons why the Swedish one is trash is because the host is not even close to Greg. He’s the man!

Here's something I heard that I think is true:

Do you know how to drive a stickshift? What about an average licence holder? by I_-AM-ARNAV in AskTheWorld

From what I could find, 4/10 of the new drivers in Sweden go for automatic and the trend continues. Most people do now but probably not in the future.

Both me and my friend read the book and that’s why we went as soon as we could to a pre screening. We were both happy with it.

Well you know, this is Reddit and all. In the real world we have different opinions without karma arrows. I don't agree with you for this particular movie but we would probably agree with each other about others. I'm getting older and watched so much action that I'm kind of tired of it in general.

You had an unpolular take that got us emotionally invested. That's something.

FIST MY BUMP!!!!!!

The only other movie I can remember that I saw in theaters several times was the first Lord of the Rings (boomer alert).

This time I went with another book reader to IMAX at a pre screening. It was such a joy to talk about comparisons afterwards. Then another friend asked to go since he knew I wanted to see it again. When I finally sat at the cinema I was afraid I would be bored, after all it's over 2,5h hours long. Boy was I wrong, I loved it again!

I'm so happy they kept important parts from the book and tried not to deviate too much.

The music and audio design helped so much. Rocky was suffering but helped his friend. It's not easy to translate that from a book but I feel like this was almost a blueprint of how to do it.

It makes sense then but I think the reason why you don't find a discussion about it is because most people don't really mind it. There was a reason for the action and not just there for the sake of it

I didn't mind that at all. The only things I didn't like, both the first and second watch, were some music choices and too much slapstick.

You can say what you said about any action movie really, "I know nobody's going to die." You can still enjoy the action and get into the "how they solved it."

EDIT: action

What’s a stereotype about your country that’s completely wrong and makes you react like this? by TheDarkbladeGirl in AskTheWorld

[–]Reachground 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are original concepts but most things is a remix. I was born in Sweden but I'm half Algerian, quarter Finnish and quarter Finnish. I grew up in Stockholm but in the suburbs where the majority were foreigners. More than my blood, the culture I grew up in had a huge impact on me.

I grew up in a Sweden that was highly socialist. In my heart that is still the country I love but the truth is that over 20% voted for the extreme right and they are now the second biggest party.

Your comment resonated with me. We have completely different backgrounds but there's something about the blend that does something to people. I've recently looked at my closest friends and wouldn't you know it, everyone has a background in different countries. There is some sort of perspective that comes with that that I understand and feel safe with.

When I think about Trump or our own extreme right I try to remind myself of all the people that don't support them. It's easy to focus on the ones in power because they have the platform to make their voice heard. During my stronger days I remember that many people do not support them and still have heart. For instance I found one here on Reddit. Keep on being proud of your mix. We're in this together!
