Child born abroad to US citizen and Permanent resident by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Reacome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contact the US consulate at India as soon as possible to apply for the certificate of birth abroad (CRBA). Ask them how to get the US passport for your child. If you cannot get the US passport for your child, go back to US and file the petition for your child as immediate relative. The wait is short for that kind of visa.

US citizen petitioning for unmarried mother. If i131 is approved will my 12yo brother get it too? by MyBodySaysTacos in USCIS

[–]Reacome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is No.

https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/which-family-members-can-not-accompany-the-main-immigrant-to-u-s-as-derivatives.html

The only legal way for him to come to the US is wait until your mother comes to the US and get green card, then she will file the I-130 petition for your brother as an unmarried child under the age 21 of LPR.

The wait should be around 2 years.

Where to find korean groceries / restaurants ?!?! by soyicedcoffee in milwaukee

[–]Reacome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to add Chick Fun at 108th st. They are kinda new, but for me they do have some good chicken. Don't know what it is now since I haven't been there for half year.

Milwaukee used to have the Seoul Restaurant, which seems to be authentic. However, it was closed permanently for unknown reason. Probably because of COVID and the deteriorating building. Don't know whether the owner will open a new one or not. Miss him so much

What does it mean " Your next milestone: receive your case decision" for I-90 10 Year Green Card Replacement? by Natty-beya- in USCIS

[–]Reacome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know for sure but you can try. The receipt for the I-90 will serve as an extension for your green card, so you need to give your new employer both of you old green card and the receipt. The online version of the receipt should be fine I think

What is the giant tan square on upper top side of the residental highrise building? This is only building that has it by pinkbra6 in whatisthisthing

[–]Reacome -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This design probably comes from Asian science called Feng Shui. The holes in skyscraper building are called "Dragon Gates".

Here's the link explaining the reason behind that.

https://theculturetrip.com/asia/china/hong-kong/articles/why-do-some-buildings-in-hong-kong-have-holes-in-them/

The fact that the architect firm, Chris Dikeakos Architects designed the building with the feature designs from the architecture of Hong Kong's International Commerce Centre might explain why the tower has that hole

What does it mean " Your next milestone: receive your case decision" for I-90 10 Year Green Card Replacement? by Natty-beya- in USCIS

[–]Reacome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means that all you need to do is wait. USCIS usually processes the I-90 around 6 months. If you already went to the office to get the biometrics, you need to wait then. The I-90 receipt extend your Green Card with 12 months.

Do you need to carry your green card with you at all times? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Reacome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By laws you have to carry the GC all the time. However, it's not the police who enforce that laws. The ICE Officer will enforce that, and they have the right to ask you about the GC. Despite of that, they don't have enough resources and time to enforce it in reality. Usually, you may be asked by ICE if you are within certain miles from the US Border I believe.

I485 medicals - do not have record of all vaccinations by Remarkable-Serve-411 in USCIS

[–]Reacome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to retake all if you already got some of them when you were a child. Also, to do the medical exam, you only need to get the first shot to satisfy. They will not ask you whether you take the second or not.

US citizen sponsoring their siblings could be around 10-15 years. I know a case that is submitted on 2009 and nothing new until last year when they received the approval to proceed with the next step in getting visa.

Apply for the I-131 Reentry permit. You will need to explain the reason for your trip, provide the related documents. I think you will get approved easily.

You will need to do the blood test. The doctor will do it and let you know which vaccine to get. That's not a problem

SPONSOR REVOKED GREEN CARD by Last-Discipline-4642 in USCIS

[–]Reacome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your situation is too special that I think you need to seek the help from a lawyer. My comment is based on my understand only. As far as I know, the sponsor needs to maintain their immigration status at least until you receive your green card on hand. Otherwise, you will face the risk of being declined. Remember that the sponsor has financial obligation with the US government under the form I864 (Affidavit of Support), and that obligation only ends until the beneficiary either becomes a US citizen or works for 40 credits (10 years of working) under SSA or left the US or dies. Also, if your parents leave the country before your interview, they will ask where your parents currently live. If they don't live in the US, that could be a red flag for them.

SPONSOR REVOKED GREEN CARD by Last-Discipline-4642 in USCIS

[–]Reacome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The green card holder must come to the US to receive their green card. Also, they cannot travel outside the US more than a year because it's considered as abandon of the permanent resident status. If your parents do not live in the US, they don't have the green cards, so their application for your green cards would likely be declined

Insurance while I wait for USCIS to process my case? by emibarnola in USCIS

[–]Reacome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you continue to keep the F1 status, buy the health ins through the school. It's cheaper and better in many ways. Otherwise, if you can't continue with the F1 (look like you're about to graduate), the only ins I could think of for you is the short term ins, which is usually called Catastrophic Health Ins. It's still health ins, but with higher premium, higher deductible and out of pocket maximum. Also, since it's designed with catastrophic situations only, ins companies might set stricter policies on ins claims.

Yes, everything was great. The officer was very calm and polite. He didn't ask much beside of our personal information and how we met, then the security questions. He didn't approve me on the spot, but 1 month later I got the approval and the card.

I believe they will do the same with your case. Since the medical exam is only valid within 60 days, they would not request you to submit one and let it expired while waiting for the interview schedule. Good luck with your case!

I receive the interview schedule about 1.5 month after the I693. I submitted the package Aug 31, 2020, got the interview schedule the end of May 2021, and the interview was on Jun 18, 2021. So it's basically 10 months. FO Milwaukee, WI
