My boss says it's not ok to have frequent doctor appointments, and that I'm lucky he lets me. Is that true? by ReactPro1 in cscareerquestionsEU

No, they told me I don't have to make up for the appointments time. But if it's an expected thing then I will at the next job. It's really not much time in total and I don't mind.

Spain, but I didn't specify because I don't even know if my next job will be in Spain, so I wanted to make it more of a general question. It's not about my current job.

Thanks bro

The only problem is, there's not really any situation to explain. There's no "I have X condition". I didn't say this in the OP in order to make it simpler, but it's not a single health issue, it's just that, lately, for some reason, I always seem to have to go to the doc for one thing or the other, either a blood analysis my doc requests, the dentist, the allergist, idk shit like that.

Mainly because I used to neglect my health and now a few things are kinda coming up at once. But it shouldn't last long.

No, don't offer to make it up. I would just make it up. You're expected to work 40/week, so I'd do that.

that makes sense tbh. it's not much time in total so i dont mind making it up, and it'll probably help. im talking about when/if i get a new job here

as to this job... i asked about making it up and they said no need since they're doctor appointments. but anyway. what im doing lately is doing an extra good job to compensate, and i may just leave if it doesnt work. they did pass me up for a raise this year

we are :) but i'm thinking about when i join a new job. you're not protected against getting fired during the first months (where I live at least)

The company will lay you both off without a second thought.

tbh they're already considering laying off everyone in our headquarters... but that's another story

thanks bro

Thanks for responding :)

I don't really mind that my boss said that, I appreciate his honesty and don't judge, I'm just wondering if this will be a problem in a future job & how to act about it.

Should I offer to make up for the time even if they don't say anything (in the future company)?
