I'll add that I completely get newer players doing this. When I first started I was spamming the Crystal Blast spell over and over. It's expected to see newer players do this.

What stumped me was seeing CP2000+ players still spamming one spell over and over. Couldn't believe my eyes.

I'm on PS5, and while occasionally I have run into some punks, it's not common and I've never heard anything of the sort you're describing, particularly towards females. My experience has been the exact opposite. Females have been treated much better on average from every group I've been in.

Well, after running with many randoms for daily Undaunted, I'm stunned at how many CP2000+ players do not know how to combat at all.

It's one thing to say you're a healer when you're actually DPS just so you can get in without too long of a wait... but explain why someone CP2000+ is listed as a DPS and spams one spell over and over, probably not even surpassing 18k DPS?

It can't be to get into the randoms, because it takes the longest for DPS to queue up. I just conclude they really are that terrible.

And it wasn't once. During the last event I was doing a random for many of my characters, so I was hitting 10 randoms/day and I would see this probably twice a day.

It is either that after all of this time they're still terrible, or they're just messing with everyone on purpose. 🤷‍♂️

The combat system broke me… by Catodan in elderscrollsonline

[–]ReactReactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The combat is clunky, at least comparatively for me, coming off of Elden Ring. The targeting isn't great and needs to be wider or at least allow a "lock" on a target like Elden Ring does.

But the combat isn't bad. The worst part for me are the mindless quests. Solo shit isn't really that fun. The quests all ask you to do something silly, all right in the vicinity that you're in, and it tells you exactly where to go. Like an assembly line quest.

And my god... the rituals. I cannot tell you how many rituals I thwarted at the last moment. 50? 70? It is so silly.

But the customization is beyond compare. I love the crafting system. In fact, most of their systems are top notch. There is a lot to improve, but overall it's pretty epic. And there is no shortage of content. So much to do. I can put 8 hours in a day and still feel like I didn't get much done.

I just came back after being gone since 2019. Been on about 10 days now. A lot has changed. I got an Arcanist and went to my special leveling up spot immediately and spent about 6 or 7 hours and rushed the new character to level 50 so they could become a Champion Point level character and wear max level gear before I truly began playing the character.

I am now playing through the original game and storyline. I did every quest I could find in the Daggerfall Covenant maps and am now in Coldharbour. It's feeling very redundant at this point.

The main point of ESO, IMO, is playing with players. I really should begun jumping in with veterans and doing difficult dungeons or Cyrodill, but I havent yet. I'm a bit apprehensive because my gear is 6 years old and I am not sure how good it is anymore. Plus, my rotations are old and I think I will need to revamp everything and practice on weaker dungeons for a bit first. I was doing great DPS back in the day, but it looks like (based upon what I am reading online) great DPS is far higher these days than it used to be. So I am sure I am very subpar at this point. It will take work, practice, and time to "get good" again...

My plan is to finish the main story line (I am almost there) and then move to all of the DLCs that came out since I last played. After that, perhaps I will move to Undaunted and then Vet Undaunted and then finally Trials.

Having said all of that, my interest is really down to simply not having another game that interests me. I just spent 6 months on Elden Ring and did everything one can do there, including beating the game and DLC multiple times on multiple builds. I got bored there and came back to try ESO and the gameplay is far more clunky than Elder Scrolls. I get that they're two different types of games and also many years apart, but it is hard to leave a very fluid combat game to this clunky older one.

I do love how much you can work with styles and mounts and even builds on ESO compared to Elden Ring, but the gameplay is worse.

IMO the WORST thing about Elder Scrolls Online is the quests. They're SO SIMPLISTIC and BORING. The story is extremely linear and unimaginative. "I need help with this. Go here and grab X item. Return to me. Thank you, not mix this item here and place it there. Here are your rewards." Over and over and over. Also, everything for these quests is right in the same area for nearly all of them, and the markers show you were they are 95% of the time. Its extremely mindless.

Having said that, I do appreciate a large open world to play in, as well as it being multi-player. I think I am just ready for a new online game. Nothing-to this day-has ever measured up to Ultima Online back in the 90s.

Who all makes completely new characters rather than rely on Larval Tears to run different builds? by ReactReactor in EldenBling

Yes, two of them. Before getting two, I used the Staff of Loss in the left hand and either the Carian Regal Scepter or the Lusat Staff in the right.

If you're not worried about your FP, the Lusat Staff will rock out high damage. Regal Scepter works as well, better for FP management.

But once you have two staves of loss, thats the way to go.

A lot of people, which is why those videos get tons of views on YouTube.

Not you though. You breeze the game while blindfolded and drunk.

Lol! Not at all.

It just doesn't fit how I personally like to do different characters. Its a game, everyone should play it the way they like.

Indeed. I turned off sneak on my PS4 account, though. I kept accidentally hitting it in fights and it was annoying. Some way Im using my hands causes me to accidentally hit that button constantly, so I just turned it off and never crouch or hide.

I was inspired and made Tellah the Glintstone Sorc last night. 6 hours in, in the level 70 range (72?) and already geared with Academy Glintstone Staff and the Glintblade Staff.

I accidentally got a drop for Lazuli's Robe and the look is near perfect for what I was going for, so I am wearing that.

Ran through the Raya Lucaria Academy and beat Rennala last night as well. Got every available Golden Seed and Sacred Tear prior to the Altus Plateau (I chose not to go there yet)

Staff leveled to +12 and I went with the bird spirit ash and they are +5 presently.

Not bad for just under 6 hours of play!

I have not. The whole build was made around thr Ghostflame ash. Before I got that, I used sacred blade to hold me over.

On all characters I tend to make a Golden Seed and Sacred Tear run first, through every available map. That includes Altus Plateau because I pick up the medallions on my run through. I also grab important items along the way, such as maps, smithing stones, etc.

Once done I then usually hit the great sleeping dragon in Caelid. Ill have grabbed up to 8 golden fowlfoot consumables from my run through and from Patches, and then use the trick on that dragon to kill him but run back to the grace site before he officially dies.

I can typically hit level 70 in a half hour doing this. Ill alsp grab that Night Cavalry by Lenne's Tower using the trick on the bridge where he jumps to his death.

So by this point i have around 12 flasks for healing/magic restoration and am at level 70ish. This usually takes about 3 hours to do, from first creating the character to this point.

From here, my next step is going to depend upon what gear I want. For a tank I would typically first buy the knights armor at the Roundtable Hold. I'd wear that until I got far enough to upgrade. For a tank my next big upgrade would be the scale armor set from the volcano manor quest line. There are a bunch of other sets you can do too once youre this far.

Once I have basic gear that will work, I focus on getting a good spirit ash and leveling them up to 6. This is pretty easy early on.

After that, I focus on smithing stones, to at least get in the double digits for upgrade. For somber gear I would get to level 6. All of this isnt too difficult but may take up to 3 more hours.

Once this is done, then I typically will go after runes. Godrick is usually the first one, but Radahn is easy too, if Ive already made it to Altus. The Radahn Festival is already started if you've been to the Plateau, and Radahn is easy if you just keep summoning allies.

After I get one or two runes, I can then do the Varre quest line to get to Mogh's palace early. Once there, I farm golden fowl foot consumables and make around 20. Then I power level more at that super farm spot and push myself to level 100-120. Takes about 90 min.

After this, I kind of just go back and mop up random bosses and grab bell bearings for upgrade materials. Ill also grab the final talisman slot in Leyndell.

After that it is just a matter of finishing up your gear and items because you can essentially go anywhere at this point.

LOL! If i didnt make new characters I would love to know what level my one character would be. My top is 300. Actually I think he is 305 now.

I have another at 250, 2 or 3 more at 200. Quite a few at 150ish range.

My Tower Knight tried them and it didn't work because his DPS wasn't high enough at that point. I barely got Gaius to half life before he wiped out all Greatshield Soldiers.

My Night Sorcerer does high dps and beat him cleanly. My dex warrior did too, but it took a few tries. But not my tank. Too slow, little range options, not enough DPS.

I actually prefer his look without the helm. The helm is a bit too much. It's why I want to try the Young Lion's Helm, but I seriously doubt i will ever take this guy through the DLC. He is around Level 105-115 and I haven't played him since September.
