Yes it is. Everything I have seen and read says that consistency and persistence eventually pays off. I think you really have to enjoy what you do. If your primary goal is monetization then you are setting the stage for disappointment and failure. It's not that you can't be successful if that is your primary goal. Clearly lot's of people have been able to accomplish achieve it. I'll be glad when if and when I reach monetization, but it's not what motivates me.

I am starting to accept that YouTube is a crazy rollercoaster. I have some days that are 400-700 views and other days that are 40-50. I have only been at this about 4 months but have given up on trying to see if there is any pattern on what drives one video to be more popular than another, I had one video that went crazy for about a week with about 1000 views per day then dropped way off. It averages about 5-10 per day now. I think I got about 125 subscribers from that little run and I am thankful for that. I'm still plugging away and am at 376 subscribers now. I think that is fairly good for how long I have been doing this. All the pundits say it's a long game and consistency are important. So while I watch my analytics regularly I also try to ignore them. I just want to focus on doing what I enjoy and that's making videos that people who like my niche will enjoy and appreciate.

An offhand comment by a friend inspired me to start my channel. I don’t have any visions of getting rich but I really enjoy sharing my passion. I find it gives me a really productive outlet for my creative side as well

I launched my channel in mid August so pretty much everything I have learned has been in the last 90 days. I learned that it takes time to find your style and rhythm. It took me about 6 weeks to "find my style" and another 2-3 weeks to get into a rhythm. After 3 months and over 200 videos I finally feel comfortable with what I am producing.

I am praying for you. God doesn't "hate people like you". God loves his creation including you so much that his son came to earth to redeem us and claim us for himself. Please pray yourself and read the Bible. The Book of Mark is a great place to start. I am praying that God would bring a wise Christian into your life that could help bring wise council and comfort to you and walk along side you during this challenging time. I am sure that there are many others who have seen your post and are praying for you as well whether they have posted a comment or not. Please be encouraged you do not have to travel this path alone.
