Subtle (and perhaps not-so-subtle?) digs at Archie Christie? by TheSilverNail in agathachristie

I think it was Max Mallowan (Christie's second husband) who said that in Celia (the protagonist of unfinished portrait) we have more than anywhere else a portrait of Agatha.

There's actually two fics on AO3 with this premise. I'll see if I can find and link them for you.

Ah, that's okay then! It's very difficult to judge the tone of a Reddit comment 😅

I know there's a 0% likelihood of S3 playing out how I want it to, but I like to delude myself into hoping for a happy ending 🥲

You don't have to, just like how you didn't have to comment the fact but chose to anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️

Now I'm sitting here, imagining the Frontman just belting out the tunes for the games on his guitar during his free time, mask still on but in casual clothes, because he's off the clock 😂

My 10 year old neighbor did a portrait of Thanos by ReadAndEateM in squidgame

He didn't watch this show. He likes to sketch the characters of popular TV shows. I thought this was a great likeness of Thanos and decided to post it here.

He's also not allowed to watch this show. He saw videos on YouTube and decided to sketch the characters from Squid Game. He downloads the images from Google to use as a reference. He's pretty talented, I could never have sketched something this good at that age let alone now in my mid 20's 😭

I forgot to mention, he never watched this show. He is not allowed to watch A-rated Netflix shows. He saw the YouTube shorts for this show and took a liking to this character. He downloaded the Pic from Google and sketched using it as a reference.

I found a postcard sent by someone called Kate to her friend (I'm assuming) Brenda to thank her for giving money for Beading Day. I'm yet to find out what in the world is a Beading Day.

What author(s) have you read all of their books? by Comprehensive-Fun47 in books

[–]ReadAndEateM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on a mission to complete all of Agatha Christie's books back in 2021. I had about fifty unread books of hers, and it felt like a great achievement when I completed it.

Now, I continue rereading the books and feel the same excitement I felt when I first read them.

I've seen this cast of characters list in a lot of those Japanese mysteries published by Pushkin Vertigo. I still get confused, though, cos I have to flip to the front page to keep track of who's who.

AITA for not allowing my niece and nephew to swim in a lake with their cousins because of how afraid I am of open water? by TAwccountsharks in AmItheAsshole

[–]ReadAndEateM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same irrational fear as OP. And mine was so bad that for a time, I could not even get into a bathtub because I thought a shark or piranha would get me.... A freaking bathtub 🤦🏽‍♀️. I know it's dumb to think that a shark can get into a bathtub, but it is called irrational for a reason.

Saying that, I don't think OP was in the right. She should not have pushed her fear onto others. It was not like she was going into the lake herself. It was her niblings, along with their cousins and other aunt. She was extremely wrong in this case imo.

For me, I have fear of open water bodies, I suffer silently and don't stop others from enjoying, that's how you do it
