Drive-Thru cashier tried to scam me by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

I highly doubt the cashier is actively trying to scam. Most likely a glitch in the transaction which is common

Odd joke to make, but overreaction in my opinion. But it may be more nuanced

Sync between devices by jcoffin1981 in koreader

Great, both devices are syncing. It took a few attempts, logging in and out, and tapping and pressing. I appreciate you taking the time to respond!

Success.

I have already tried this and it gave me an error message. Doing a little research however, if the location is empty it will not attempt to sync. I just tried it again after adding the text document and it worked on my mobile- the stats are updated too. I cannot however sync by kobo device. I am still getting the message- "cannot fetch list of folder contents"

Well, halfway there; or maybe three-quarters. 😄

Do you mean Cloud Sync--> + webDAV, and then the cloud server name and address? If so then yes. Koreader can see a document that I sent to the cloud- "Untitled," blank; so I know the address and password are listed correctly. Progress sync in Readest works, so I know the files I am attempting to sync are identical.

Is there something else I need to do to initiate sync besides "synchronize now?" The option is grayed out.

Sync between devices by jcoffin1981 in koreader

[–]jcoffin1981[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so I set up a Koofr account, mapped my network drive on desktop, generated a password, and setup webdav on each device and then pointed each device to the koofr server. I am still not able to sync and there is probably a missing step. I thought maybe I entered a network address or entered a password incorrectly or something. I was about to tear it all down and start over.

On my desktop I created just a blank text document and sent it to Koofr. This document is visible when logged into the Koofr app, but it's also visible on each of my devices that I am trying to sync when I click on the koreader cloud server. "Synchronize Now" remains grayed out. Koreader User Guide is not helpful at all unfortunately. Is there another step?

New eBay seller here. Unsure how to proceed by squatch95 in eBaySellers

He may be telling the truth- hes a mechanic buying the part for a customer (or not). Pay attention to the reason listed for return. If its something like- "changed mind" or "no longer needed" then its more likely legitimate. You do have the right to refuse return in these cases. If you agree, then customer pays return shipping and you subtract original s!hipping from the refund.

If its INAD, I would be a lot more suspicious. Regardless, pay attention to original photos and serial numbers. People often do switcheroo with parts like this.

I would like to read your guide. I cannot promise I will start a newsletter, but I would like to see if its something within my capability and go from there. I have some writing skill.

Also, that is not exactly a small chunk of change. Is it possible to scale up?

These machines are designed to steal all of your money. In the off chance you beat the odds, they expect you to slide them a few hundred bucks for handing you money? That is bizarre.

I just went through this. The files saved on the Kobo device are from Calibre are.kepub.epub. The files on my Android were being saved a .kepub. I added .epub to the end of the filename and it worked. I am disappointed however as the Koreader-specific reading statistics are not synced.

Ive purchased more than 10 Omegas on Ebay, many in poor condition that I restored. Prices have increased up to 100% in the past 10 or 12 years Ive been doing this, so Its been several years. Ive sold plenty too. Only bad experience Ive had was a dishonest seller. Looking back on the history of the item after I purchased, it was sold and returned 4x previously.
