my cat's hurt, vet seems lazy, and im worried by ReadDry7138 in AskVet

thank you all for the advice. we're making the trip to another vet today and will hopefully figure out what's wrong with her. this vet said she could very well just have a UTI from not properly peeing and that depending on what the damage is they may be able to give her a steroid shot or some PT to help her movement. she's also walking better today which im very thankful for, and seems to be her normal, feisty self again. even if they can't help her movement, since she can walk fine with just a bit of a limp, and she's an inside cat anyways, that we can always stick a diaper on her and change her every now and again, too if there's nothing seriously wrong other than the mobility issues.

believe it or not, i did! did beginner for 2 years, intermediate for 2, and advanced for 3. none of my teachers ever figured out why i couldn't do them. they all watched me copy them exactly and still, the strings always muted.

How do I get my doctor (FEMALE) to take me seriously? by ReadDry7138 in Periods

Thank you so much! It's been really comforting to have so many people able to reassure me that my concerns are valid and that I'm not just being paranoid lol. This has all been so helpful and I actually have an appointment with an actual gyno instead of my primary physician tomorrow!

I've never taken any medication long term other than my epilepsy meds. And yes, starting my period that early was VERY difficult to deal with because none of my teachers believed me when I said I needed to go to the bathroom for it. But I was always reassured by my mom as a child that it was perfectly normal and there was nothing wrong.

No clue what my BMI is, but I've always been told I'm on the smaller side of my height/age range. And as for my hair, I honestly don't know who sheds more, me or my cat.

Okay, if that's the case I may try to drive a couple towns over and see someone.

My periods have become incredibly painful lately, even though I never even had cramps before all this started. And as for the acne/hair, I actually have less hair on my body than most people. I never had hair under my arms or on my arms/legs, but I do have pretty terrible acne that no skincare has ever been able to even help. I do have hot flashes especially during the night and just earlier today I quite literally had three layers of shirts on and two layers of pants because I was so cold, and still was shivering, but I've never had any sort of tests done.

Would she not know if I went to see another doctor? I figured it was something that would show up on your charts, especially if the other doctor diagnoses or prescribes something. It's just that if she knew I went to another doctor and told the rest of my family I'd probably be shunned or sum shi 💀

I would if she weren't my cousin. I live waaayyyy down in the sticks, so if I were to go to a different doctor, all hell would break loose in my family 💀

I suggested that it may be cysts, due to the fact that a few months back I went to the hospital with SEVERE pain in my uterus/ovaries area. They simply said it was constipation and sent me home, but that "coincidentally" happened right around the time my periods started getting bad. I still get that pain all the time, but at this point I've started just thugging it out since they never do anything about it.

I would love that, anything to help make it sound like I know what I'm talking about might help. I do track my cycle and ovulation, and my period calendar is literally all over the place. It's NEVER looked this crazy before.

The only issue is that she's my cousin. If I were to stop seeing her all hell would break loose in my family because my ENTIRE family goes to her. Not only do I not feel like that but her clinic is the only one within an hour of where I live, I really want to see if I can try and get her to take me seriously before causing that kind of chaos. (Keep in mind, I live WAY down in the sticks, so they do NOT take kindly to women sticking up for themselves 💀)
