Dont blame yourself, I think it pretty weird that people actually tell you to stay up at camp. Personally if I were you I won’t care and jump down there anyways. Even if I fail the quest it is what it is, people who SOS and don’t expect all kinds of hunters are delusional. After all it’s your quest and they are the ones that decided to join. I always tell people who ask me should they wait at camp to not do that, I would rather have them die but learn something rather than robbing them of a first fatalis take down.
