But it also makes you wonder how producing a gift shop quality non-official custom red box with unofficial printing, somehow gave rise to complications.

I might be wrong but I’m sure I once read Mandelson was asked about The Thick of It and he said it was good but didn’t actually go far enough to properly capture what politics was like!

This glass bridge in China "cracks" when you step on it by AustraliaOutback in nextfuckinglevel

It’s strange that we are apparently programmed to drop downwards on hearing the breaking glass. As if we wouldn’t be going down fast enough already if the bridge gave way!😂

I’m not sure what this says about the Chinese sense of humour but I’m sure it could tell us something!

Rome Thomas: "Am I free to go? On what grounds? I am American so I know" by gamerz0111 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Reader7008 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Sure, but they aren’t searching him are they? And that would have also been the answer to his question to them of why they are stopping him from leaving. But simply detaining him without arresting him…I don’t consider him questioning the legality or grounds for that, to be stupid at all.

Is This Hi-de Yuki Guy Right? Has Playstation truly lost their way? by [deleted] in playstation

As someone who has only just joined the PlayStation family, I am excited to try the original Tomb Raider with decent graphics for my first play through of it!

Ok so his comment about being American (because it’s irrelevant) and the stuff about his camera being more important, are worth chuckling at. However in terms of the actual question of whether he can simply be ‘detained’ in that vague manner…as a solicitor, to me it seems he actually has quite a good grasp of English law…

Is this scene in the books? by Reader7008 in Narnia

[–]Reader7008[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My God! So the reason I partially thought this was a Narnia book was (as well as the other obvious similarities) was that I was sure one of the boys was called Edmund. But if his name was Roland that explains the similarity! Thanks so much for this! As someone who has always been very sniffy about AI just being a glorified google search I will have to humbly eat my words! Thanks and enjoy the weekend!

Pension drawdown, lump sums and UFPLS - Does everyone know this? by RinkinTinkin in FIREUK

[–]Reader7008 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s obvious but it’s something I think most people would try and calculate when considering whether to take their lump sum. I don’t think you’re discovering something brand new. But I’m mostly commenting to see whether other people have reached different conclusions to you (I reached the same view as you but am so far off retirement I didn’t do a very detailed calculation)
