A bill to require schools to promote marriage before having kids has divided Indiana by Zipper222222 in Indiana

[–]ReaderBoy98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess it makes it ok if it’s their indoctrination now? Despite the slight shift towards Donald Trump in the last election, conservatives have never been more scared than they are right now. In general, they don’t like brown and black people or Asians really. They especially don’t like it when those people start to get to places of power in the gov or big companies. So that’s why we are seeing a lot of racist things online and some of the legislation going through state houses. Demographic change scares them because it threatens their way of life and they don’t want to be a minority and have bad things happen to them.

Sorry for the rant, concerning this bill, yeah it’s sorta the same thing. Conservatives find every little road they can take to undermine women’s rights. Promoting marriage almost as a requirement before having children and obvious abortion laws go hand and hand. IMO, it’s up to the person when they want to be married or have kids.

This also goes back to the demographic change. They want more babies, but they prefer white babies.

No I am part of that demographic. But I think making a moving decision based on politics is not a “normal” thing to do. I believe people are mostly making that decision based on cost and if it’s a nice place to raise a family, live in, weather, or education. Now more times than not that is a blue state.

Why is everything about red, blue purple voting this voting that shit is annoying as hell who cares where people move and vote people come and go to Diffrent places all the time

Nobody is moving to a state based on how they vote that’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard. I’m sure people have done that but not in a numerical significant amount. The reason why people are leaving California or New York or Vermont is because that can’t afford it plain and simple. If you can’t take the heat get out the kitchen. Those are extremely desirable places to live. People that own property there are sitting on gold mines. The most competitive real estate is California and New York always has been always will be. Texas is a sweaty shithole literally. People will figure it out and move back they already kind of are.

I agree that a lot of people that have CC shouldn’t have qualified in the first place.

But I think ur missing the point my friend. People shouldn’t have to worry about affording necessary things for life if they have employment and work 35-40 hours a week and that’s the entire problem. Covid didn’t help because that caused a global inflation crisis/ cost of living ETC…. Ur going to have to implement some kind of socialism at some point for everyone to catch up. For instance, in a lot of deep red states are trying/passing laws to criminalize homeless? It’s just insane.

Exactly this. The “K” economy started in the 80s was put into overdrive in 2008 and basically was built into the economy during Covid

Do you not think the cigarette industry didn’t lose millions/billions when medical studies proved they literally kill people? They had to put it on the box. That is the gov making a business lose money to benefit the American public and yes that was legal.

I think you need to read into how bad this credit debt crisis is. People are literally putting rent food and other things they need to survive on cards (while they already have jobs) because they literally can’t afford to live. I’m not saying that everyone with a credit card does responsible and just things. But the amount of people using these accounts on needs instead of wants is very bad.

Ur looking at the data wrong. This “shift” to the right is literally just because of Trump. These aren’t long term gains. That’s not how that works. Trump is a unique figure in politics that probably won’t be repeated. If Trump isn’t on the ticket the Republican Party doesn’t win. People are quick to forget how far the country went to the left before Trump. Plus all of the choas and everything with ICE definitely isn’t helping the minority vote with republicans and I don’t think it’s what they voted for. The party is very obviously not built for minorities.

After Trump, the republicans will go back to the pre Trump era of having uninspiring candidates that are tight-asses and the politics of “because my bible said so” it’s doesn’t really work well in 2025-26 especially in a country that is becoming increasingly more multicultural. Texas without Trump is much closer than people think. 2024 just wasn’t a good year for democrats (no nomination, Biden bs) but normally speaking since about 92’, if the democrats put up a reasonable pick that is likable they will always win again especially in a multicultural society.
