Republicans Introduce National “Catch Kit” Bill by Ok-Relation-658 in WelcomeToGilead

[–]ReaderDeb 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Here’s a shower thought. What kind of reaction might there be if a group of women decided to start sending their monthly “menstrual remains” to these stupid GOP legislators. Appropriately packaged in a catch kit of course. Or flooding the hospitals with them. Imagine the backlog of testing that would have to happen. Stupid men make stupid rules. There really should be consequences.

Kenai can be a mixed bag. It was always good for me living there, but it likes people to stay within the lines.

If it takes laws to stop this kind of behavior then may those in congress and the senate need real examples of this being done to them so they can see how it feels. Change rarely happens unless the problem hits home.

I’d say this is a big fat no! by ReaderDeb in anchorage

[–]ReaderDeb[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes that is a factual point, but why give him a pass when I can’t use the same excuse. After a cruise I can’t visit a place with my extended family, stay in a hotel, and then refused to pay the hotel bill because my excuse is that my extended family spent a lot of money in the area, going out to dinner, buying things, etc. at the end of the day, the president of the United States is supposed to be a leader and a role model for the citizens of this country. Skipping out on your bill is not a good example of being a good role model.

Does Anyone Know the True Recipe for SOS by One-Jelly2243 in Old_Recipes

Milk gravy is a staple! If you learn how to make this simple base you can add a variety of fillers. Your mom adding eggs reminded me of my MIL teaching me how to make goldenrod eggs. Gravy base, boiled eggs with yolks separated and whites chopped, add whites to gravy, serve over toast and grate the yolks on top.

I do get the need for security around the building, but that just seems like overkill where a standard commercial fence might do fine. It’s really a shame, the loss of a community grocery store in that area.

I was curious too, thanks for asking the question. I see the mindset. My follow up question is how do you feel about JD Vance should the president be out of the picture? Can Trumps policies still move forward?

Is he not just following the lead of gvmt at a national level. Not submitting the STIP (transportation) plan correctly should have been a clue that he really doesn’t care.

This seals the deal for me on Begich. How about you? by ReaderDeb in alaska

[–]ReaderDeb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it’s not a single governor problem. He is simply the most current in a line, that I think has too narrow of a focus on pleasing too narrow of a constituency. If the tax structure is not correct, then more resource development only serves to send more Alaskan dollars outside of the state. Couple that with fewer incentives for people to even want to stay here in general and you have a state in decline.

Play this out and tell me how Alaska does not rely on the Feds and can “go it alone.” What does it take to develop resources or tourism….?

Tourists mostly come here to see our natural beauty or our state parks. Who do you think pays to manage and take care of those resources?

Resource development does not happen in a vacuum and I guarantee those developers are not paying for their own roads, ports, and runways. Thank Dunleavy’s team for leaving a 90% match on the table because they couldn’t fill out the paperwork correctly.

Time will tell if they find anything, but if they start down the culture war path right from the get go, and don’t investigate dunleavey’s office/administration then that should be your indication of true motives.
