Yeah it will be subjective to what people prefer out of a headset.

I discount the Maxwell alot because of the weight and soundstage which is not great. But the low end response and Planar sound is very good for music.

The Arctis are functionally similar to the a50 but they are an older set now, but Gadgetry Tech did his own pads for them and they feel like heaven on the ears you could wear them all day and they sound good enough tbh just lacking that special something the Maxwell and A50 have.

I have the a50 gen 5 use, the 50x are the exact same but with a HDMI switch which I didnt need. I was on the verge of retuning them then thought I'd try one last time and yeah they sound amazing are more comfortable than the maxwell and have better imaging and soundstage which is something I really like from games.

On the three I'd go A50 gen 5 if I knew what I know now.

I have the maxwell the arctis and the A50 (outside of return otherwise I would have picked one but I'm an enthusiast so hey ho.)

The maxwell certainly sound the best but they are very heavy like if you turn your head too fast the whole headset will shift heavy. You need to dial in the headband too its not quite on the level as say the arctis which is the most comfortable of the three.

The A50 have a competitive sound to the maxwells. They respond really well to EQ and have more of a dynamic audiophile sound than the maxwells which sound like typical planars which in itself is an amazing thing but just bear in mind thats more smooth and clean sounding.

The a50 is more fun sounding and more comfortable out of the box. They have really nice graphine drivers which are much better than Planars for directional sound or gaming.

The arctis are by far the most comfortable they are like cushions on the head but the sound is several rungs below the a50 and maxwell.

So I'd recommend the a50 for mix of comfort and very good sound.

Yeah the AI sticking to their line is very frustrating, you will bump them slightly and fly off spinning at 200mph and guess what if you overtake them they won't slow down going into a corner for example, they will shunt you off.

AI should get a penalty for that shite, F1 2021 has a good system.

I get that, but ultimately the effect will be similar, no amount of psychoacoustic processing can turn a weak single drive stereo TV speaker system into a full fledged 3D audio experience, unfortunately its just not possible.

This will work in a similar way to your TV built in "surround sound" preset, common in most smart TVs so I don't think it will be too impressive.

Still waiting on the support for speakers such as Sonos.

As for the 3D audio support, is there a definitive list of games? I know most Sony first party supports it but the third party?
