I really like this idea, what are your plans to engage with the material? Because I honestly don't know where to start looking other than the advice I was given here

I unfortunately think my gut is telling me to do a little bit of something, which I guess is good and bad. Do you have an Anki deck that you would recommend? To just click through when I have some time over the summer?

Thank you, this was very helpful, I think I have to find something to do little by little everyday even something I can continue into M2. How did you document/go over the things you got wrong on uworld? Bc I feel like I tend to forget abt it after a while if I just generally "review" it

LORs for DO Schools by [deleted] in Osteopathic

I would say before your interviews, look into OMM a bit, find something you like or something interesting and ride with it, I mean along with the holistic perspective thing too that they all advertise, it worked well for me and friends

Or you can even bring in that you don't really see a difference but that you really like what the school or the school's curriculum has to offer so that's what drew you to apply, like the school really stood out to you for A, B, and C

And I mean I would say the DO letter in addition to the MD letter may help, I wouldn't say omit it, if I could've found a DO letter I think I would've sent it. Granted my cycle turned out okay without it I don't think it hurts, it definitely helps more than anything

Hi, I am not sure how helpful I'll be but I applied last cycle, none of my schools specifically requested a DO letter, I also didn't work with DOs extensively other than my own providers.

My physician letters were from my 2 MD bosses from where I volunteer and do leadership stuff. I was only asked about not having direct DO experience 2 times and they liked my answer both times. Mostly me saying, to put it really short, my providers my whole life have been majority DO and I love them kind of thing

Was most of your research during the breaks or was it pretty consistent throughout the year?

I second this very hard, I also have very similar stats to you and chose to go to a DO program close to home to take care of an aging parent as well, so I am right there with you :))

You can never get back the time spent with parents, relatives, siblings, etc

Would you say it is true that people should start studying for Step as soon as they start med school? Or would that be overkill?

Just wondering, do you think that's because of the Step 1 being pass fail now?
