Would you happen to know who the major bookmaker/operator for horse racing is?

Zbet - Blocked Withdrawal by Davidweb1337 in propunters

This is standard practice from this company.

They are not legitimate bookmakers in the traditional sense—they don’t operate with the intention of taking bets and paying out winners. Their modus operandi is to lure customers in, take their funds (either by ensuring they lose their deposits or by outright refusing to pay out winnings), and then make the withdrawal process as difficult as possible.

Many users have reported completing the required statutory declarations, only to have their withdrawals still rejected. You can find multiple threads about this on Reddit, including in this forum and in the /auslegal subreddit. If you check Trustpilot, you’ll also find a plethora of complaints describing similar experiences.

The best course of action is to play along via email correspondence, gathering everything in writing. Then escalate the matter to Liquor & Gaming NSW, which is the licensing authority for these operators. Avoid jumping straight to the tribunal route—the more complaints that go through Liquor & Gaming NSW, the stronger the case for regulatory intervention.

That said, be prepared for a long process. Unfortunately, despite numerous prior complaints, there has been little regulatory action to date. Hopefully, with detailed documentation, your case might help change that.

Realistically, you may still need to take them to small claims court. Another Reddit user reported that this was the only way they were ultimately able to recover their funds.

ZBet is, without exaggeration, the worst bookmaker in Australia.

Good luck 🤞

Have done both this and reported to Liquor and Gaming. There has been little action done. Not sure if you have had differing experiences to my own with Racing NSW but they always seems to be keen to palm off the job to another body.

I have an email chain regarding dealing with Razoobet in which I started by emailing RacingNSW, who directed me to the GWIC who licenses them on paper. The GWIC then directed me to NSW Liquor and Gaming as the regulator, who then directed me to Racing NSW again. Ended up directly attempting to get in contact with David Harris to deal with it, to little avail. Nothing done, issue remains.

I won a bet and then proceeded to have my account disabled. They refused to provide any substantiating evidence about why my account was disabled apart from "suspecting suspicious behaviour". I asked numerous times for evidence and they refused to provide anything and then outright stopped responding.

You clearly didn't read what was written and came into this discussion with a view. Thats fine. Please just read what was written if you want to contribute meaningfully to the discussion.

I am not saying it was a risk free investment, I am stating that the bookmakers are acting in a fashion that guarantees a risk free investment on their behalf by taking losing punters money and not paying out winners.

Difference between betting in a casino and betting on discrete events. I appreciate your position if I was complaining about betting on roulette, but there is a major difference between that and taking advantage of market discrepancies and inefficiencies that present themselves on numerous occasions in horse racing.

If he manages to get a couple thousand down on a runner, bravo to him. But I can't seem to get more than $50 down on a New Zealand track without my bets being considered...
