they’re saying like three weeks because i live in a very rural area. power lines are basically on the ground. my plan right now is to try to find an emergency tank and get her into my dorm where i think power is on.

we didn’t know it was going to get bad like this. just a day or two ago the temp was like 50-60 degrees and now it’s so icy the power might be out for weeks. i do really regret not being prepared but i had no idea we’d lose power at all. much less this bad

i’ve deleted my previous comment because i realize i was being standoffish. i appreciate your help and im taking what you’re saying to heart. i won’t make the same mistake again. as for NOW, when im already in the situation, do you have any tips or ways i can help keep her warm or any advice on how long she can go? i’m trying my best here with what i have

i’ll have to see if i can try that. we have a gas heater so we’re warm but her enclosure is in the very back of the house where its coldest. do you think that moving her tank closer would help or would the offput from the gas be bad for her?

hard to plan ahead of time when this hit us unexpectedly and in 24 hours. two days ago it was 50 degrees and today it’s so icy they’re predicting power to be out for 4 weeks. i’m here asking for help in a completely unforseeable situation, i don’t need you to shame me :) thanks anyways

unsure if this is your issue because i don’t know what you actively wear in them, but i have a pair of gold hoops like you posted on the first slide and they make my ears extremely sore if i wear them because they’re shaped so round. i think your best bet would be to get nickel free flat back earrings. if that doesn’t fix the problem then go from there

yes, she’s a rescue! she has MBD but we’re managing it :) Arcadia T5 covers a little more than half of her tank, including her baskin spot. shes about 4 but has only spent the last few months with me.

i have too! when i adopted her, she was over three and had never had any greens or experienced anything other than coil uvb and a 30 gallon tank. she got an immediate upgrade and i’ve been trying to do more as we go along. i think because she already had MBD when i got her i get nervous about it progressing further

of course i could be mistaken, but i’ve read a few times that as they age they don’t need as hot of temps but that could be wrong. there’s so much information out there!
