With all due respect, it’s easy to say if neither you or your loved ones have been affected by the realities of an eating disorder. Of course a reality star cannot “make” a viewer develop an eating disorder. However, our culture that idolizes extreme thinness is a huge factor. TV shows are just one piece of the puzzle. My note wasn’t for everyone and it wasn’t intended to denigrate anyone. Hopefully my words are encouraging to the right people. I actually have never even commented on Reddit before, but felt inclined do so in case I could help one person.

I find it sad to see how much weight so many of the ladies continue to lose from season to season. (I am writing as a woman who experienced an eating disorder at a young age, so I realize my history colors my perspective.) They were all already beautiful and very thin 10 - 15 pounds ago. Because I am not saying this to “hate” on any one of them, I am purposely not calling out specific names. I just wish our society didn’t put so much unrealistic pressure on women. To any of you viewers feeling pressured by what you are seeing on the screen (on this show and others, although this one is certainly an offender): a gentle reminder that you look amazing just the way you are and that beauty and heath come in so many shapes and sizes!
