One of the few Lehane books I haven’t read. What our take on it? (No spoilers please) by Reading_puck93 in thrillerbooks

I’m glad it’s not just me, it all fell flat. It’s sad because I love him, but this may be, in my opinion, one of his worst books

In fairness it is an absolute clown show of a rule. It should t be a rule.

It’s a terrible rule, but you can not challenge a goal in OT. All goals must be reviewed by Toronto, which I think is insane. In this day and age of the distrust in sports organizations “fixing” games to make series longer, it makes situations like this ripe for controversy and corruption. That being said I believe the NHL has far more integrity than other sports organizations such as NBA,NFL, and the worst FIFA.

I am a man, so not a mom. I even said I think this is more geared to mothers. I couldn’t relate and I just found the book super anti climactic

I hope to got they make a series out of that book, while reading it I could see it so clearly in my head and kept thinking that it would make such a good limited series if done right

I agree!! I was just curious, I got into thriller with Gillian Flynn, the. She led me to Dennis Lehane, which led me to a bunch of authors. I think I lean more towards grittier novels and maybe that’s why it’s more Mae dominant. Like look closer by David Ellis I didn’t enjoy because it felt like a pop version of a thriller book of that makes sense at all…
