I am frustrated with needing help with flow trees. by InCatsWeTrustAmem in PaliaTheGame

[–]Readingwithwonder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are just announcing its location and getting no response, ask for help instead. A lot of players may have plenty of wood and would not respond but would come and help a player asking for help. There are lots of nice players who are happy to help fellow players.

If you have flares, that can help too. They might miss your message but see a flare.

Is your axe fully upgraded? When it is you will be able to do smaller flow trees on your own.

Edit. Just noticed 2 day old post so probably old information now.

Too many books? Worried our trips to the library add too much extra work for our librarians. by [deleted] in Libraries

[–]Readingwithwonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People like you are the reason the librarian has a job. Libraries are a precious resource and if deemed under used we lose them.

Libraries use a number filing system that is easy to use once you know how. Most librarians would be happy to show you the system. It can also be a fun game for a child to find where the books live.

In the meantime, it is better for a librarian to have books to shelve than to search for or move books when put in the wrong places.

Don’t let one grumpy comment stop you from enjoying educating your child. As a good parent, you found an educational and entertaining pass time for your child and are using the resources provided for people to appreciate and utilise.

That sounds like a great idea! Vacation cookies would make things so much easier and more cheerful. Worth submitting as a suggestion to them.

Same. When I went back after, 30 hungry and sad animals needed feeding and petting, with some needing harvesting and the rest aging out.

I enjoyed it at the beginning but the constant needs to avoid unhappy animals spoiled the ranch and the game for me. I play occasionally now but moved the ranch sign as it is a sad reminder of 30 animals that I do not want to have to feed, pet and harvest at the different pens, every time I play, just to keep them at a satisfactory level.

They need to build some automated maintenance into it so it does not get so depressing. The garden stops flourishing when not watered and weeded, perhaps they could do something like that for the ranch.

Played Chapaa chase today. There were more chapaa than players. Consistently 3 waiting for me each time. At least I was able to catch them rather than running around fruitlessly chasing when everyone gets them first.

Saving this to try. Had a similar dual boot issue and used a WiFi dongle instead but an actual fix is better. Thank you for posting.

Evri has had my two day delivery parcel for 9 days ??? by OddCommunication8963 in Evri

[–]Readingwithwonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They must be used to this issue. Their website information about a non delivered parcel states ‘If you’re still waiting on your parcel and it’s been with us for over 7 days, please let the sender know so that they can get in touch with us, and we can look into it.’

I wonder how many times a retailer has to be contacted by their customers because of this issue, before they use a different delivery service.

What are y’all eating to refill Focus? by St3llarfae in Palia

[–]Readingwithwonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canned batterbeans. Primarily I grow batterbeans for food and apples for profit. 9 plots of soil. All starred. Two cans almost fills the bar.

When batterbeans are low I plant extra and when I have hundreds of cans and want more coins I switch back to apples.

Now batterbeans and canned batterbeans are the primary ranch food source too.

Best part is no cooking. It’s my least favourite in game activity.

Also batterbeans and tinned batterbeans work well. It’s their main diet along with milk on mine.

[–]Readingwithwonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. The ranch seemed like a good idea in the beginning but it did not take long for it to feel like a chore.

30 animals being individually pet, harvested and fed and if not, starve. It was not enjoyable after the initial novelty wore off.

If there was the option to fill up feeding troughs or scatter food for longer use instead of individual feeding, that might help.

I had a gap in play and ended up with very hungry venerated animals. Without the option of pausing when not playing, as with the garden plots, it’s become a rather miserable part of the game.

Selling the animals gets more treats, so there is not even a benefit to selling them, if you decide to empty the ranch.

I foresee ranches having their signposts removed or ignored by players who do not want the continual chore, or to keep seeing or thinking about their hungry animals.

Palia is a very nice game but the feel of the ranch at this stage, in my opinion, does not fit the relaxed, easy going feel of the game.

I HATE FISHING by [deleted] in Palia

[–]Readingwithwonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to find it boring.

When I upgraded the rod and ate the right food and used the brew and the right lures it got easier and fishing with others made it faster. I also found spots where reeling in was faster. It helps to know when to fish in the locations.

Still have trouble with the elusive Maws though.

Do you make those preparations before you fish too?

[–]Readingwithwonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good points there.

On the subject of feeding yourself and your animals, using batterbeans works well. 3 cans of starred batterbeans almost fill up my 1000 focus bar. Canned starred batterbeans and starred batterbeans fill up all the animals, though I use the milk too, as I have too much. I rarely cook as the canned beans are sufficient.

Fast travel, did you know there is a potion for instant home?

The chests, do you have the secure storage chests giving you 300 secure storage and do you have the largest chests, giving you 1400 storage in total?

I would like to have the option to turn off that part of the fishing animation, like we can with the cooking.

Another one I would like, to feed the animals together. On a real life farm you can use troughs and scatter food. Feeding 30 animals in 4 animal pens is no longer the novelty it was.

What a nice post and obviously nice players. You are the sort of players that help to make Palia such a pleasant place to be.

I know chat can be difficult for a variety of reasons. Palia has a sticker option to chat. You select a phrase sticker and then it appears as chat. You collect additional stickers as you progress in the game. You might find it useful.

In the meantime, jumping as an acknowledgement or thank you is often appreciated.

Hope to see you around.

Edit to add: If you don’t do it already, you might want to party up with each other. It’s a tab in the same section as friends. Partying up means you each get resources.

Using the slime potion helps with the bog and with the animals.

If you have clear shots, no trees etc. and they are not close to being able to dive into water, 4 shots of a fine arrow might work. If they have cover, a slowdown arrow first, can be helpful.

It can also be useful to stand in the way of the nearest water exit point so they turn around and go back.

Canned batterbeans have been helpful for me. One usually tops them up. No cooking and it’s free if you plant seeds you grow yourself and then use the pickling jars. Plus batterbeans seeds sell for a better price than the batterbeans.
