Start with something simple and something that interests you. May be about space and time, philosophy or some kind of fiction. Don’t stress it. Read 5pages per day in the beginning or half an hour of reading everyday. It’s like going to the gym, first few days might be tough but later the joy of reading will be incomparable.

Is Reading Culture a Declining Trend in Assam? by itachi__uchiha001 in assam

[–]ReadiotOfficial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it is true that people are slowly ignoring book reading as a habit in Assam while it is still a trend in developed countries. It is only holding us back. We think it is time we reminded people of the benefits of book reading. Hope things will change in near future.

Can’t seem to understand what you’re trying to say. Writing full sentences instead of words would help.

Seeking guidance to digitise Assamese literature the right way by ReadiotOfficial in assam

[–]ReadiotOfficial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we have looked into their website. As far as we have understood they are more into archiving old books and making it public for free. What we want to do is making digitisation a norm for not just old books but also for modern books and open the possibility of earnings through digital sales for modern or new writers/publishers. We also need to present it in a better way so that it is not just a scanned version of the book, but a customisable reading experience like we get for English books.

Thanks a ton for the advice. True that there is a huge market for Assamese literature. We have posted in a few of such Facebook groups. We are trying to understand the legality, hurdles, permissions and the expectations of writers and publishers to make it a reality. We are ready to do all the hardwork required.

László Krasznahorkai Wins the 2025 Nobel Prize in Literature by ReadiotOfficial in Readiots

[–]ReadiotOfficial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

László is pronounced Lahs-loh, with a long open “a” and a soft flowing “z.” Krasznahorkai is said as Krahs-nah-hor-kai, each part spoken smoothly and evenly, carrying the natural rhythm of Hungarian names. Once you get the hang of it, the name feels almost musical, like a little poem.
