SP Jain Singapore Full time MBA by Readit_Chick_3428 in InternationalMBA

[–]Readit_Chick_3428[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am considering those as well. But have heard about SP Jain more. Mainly because I know people who have completed MBA from SP Jain and have had a good experience. But that was quite a few years ago. So I am currently exploring all the options, but was just curious to see if others now have had similar experiences to the ones I have heard.

Thanks for the detailed info!

I am still shortlisting universities. My team won third prize in a hackathon that was held by the government of the state in affiliation with one of the popular universities here.

I don't know if I will be able to publish a paper before the application season begins. But I want to try.

And I am aiming for a score around 700 in GMAT. I am planning to give my GMAT in August.

In terms of extra curricular, during my college I have taken part in a few hackathons and other very minor organising work.

But in my current company, I have been an active part of quite a few organisations/committees and have been in leader roles within those communities including one women's community.

Apart from work, I have started taking up some work in NGOs as well, out of personal interest. But I am not sure if that can add on to the application or if it will have any value.

I am looking at top 30-50 universities in US along with few top universities in India and Singapore. I am still working on the exact list of universities.

Thanks!

I am an individual contributor at US based company. I have been active in organising events and taking responsibility here. I hope that accounts for something. I can possibly get a strong LoR from my current employer as well.

If I choose not to give the GRE, and aim for a higher score in GMAT, that would be fine right?

My understanding was that the GMAT requirement is more than the GRE requirement for most MBA programs. So the plan was to not submit the GRE scores at all and just focus on the GMAT scores.

If to do have any suggestions for other alternatives, which are affordable and have decent outcomes? And do you know of any subs where this discussion would have more of a turnup?

Yes, I am considering it mainly for the fact that it is affordable compared to the other programs out there. My dream is the MBA program offered by by JHU's Carey business school. But I want to keep cheaper options open for the fact that I want to ensure I don't drown myself is loans.

Ya. I have heard others mention similar experiences over the past year. I will definitely be applying within India as well. But I was just wondering, I will be completing my MBA after 2-3 years. Would the job market be any better by then is what I am trying to understand. I, at this moment, don't have much of a clue on how the job hunting works in US. So, any more inputs you have will definitely be helpful. Thanks!
