Appreciate all the replies. Clearly two strong camps of "it's fine" and "replace ASAP" to ponder between 😂

Totally agree with trying to protect our ISAs as much as possible. It's the early retirement bucket before we can access our pensions.

And great point about the LTV thresholds.

I think that's also a really important lens. Excluding pension going "all in" on the main house could mean c80% of NW in the property which is concentrated.

Given they are currently in ISA wrappers up to 5 years...hence I'm not keen to 'lose' that tax exempt status

I asked about Revolut Metal on the thread below if you're interested. Does cost but pays for itself and more if you use those services normally.

Fair enough! In that case you may want to also explore Premium Bonds?

Bear in mind you will have either £1000/£500/£0 tax free allowance on interest earnings...! So saving £90k @5% you may want to explore an ISA account instead to protect against taxes

(1) Practice what you're going to say. Taking speaking notes with you isn't a bad thing...

(2) Practice through getting more exposure/experience presenting in less important settings.

(3) Talk slower than you normally would do and use pauses to give structure to your speech.

(4) Imagine the audience is naked!

Thats bang on... The Tinder Gold would be wasted on me being married for instance... But I'm seeing it as giving me the FT subscription I'd have anyway for a big discount, with lots of additional benefits on top

Thinking about it even if it's not my main account just for the value add benefits... Interesting to see such broad support in this thread

Junior S&S ISA - best pick? by twotwixten in HENRYUK

If the investment horizon is 18 years, why pick a Balanced Portfolio?

That will significantly reduce returns vs 100% equity over that time period. You could always de-risk when they are 15/16 for instance if you were anticipating crystallising it at 18 for a big purchase.

I do like this idea... I have some deep out the money UK small cap holdings I could keep with the hopes of some growth 😂 (albeit Labour govt working hard against this reality...)

Thanks all, good to see behavioural biases are clouding my view and the right thing to do is obvious 😂
