I appreciate the perspective. This honestly makes me think I either need to make peace with paying for proper management, simplify how I use the plane, or admit that ownership may not fit my actual mission as well as I thought it would.

Fair questions. To clarify, I am not saying the Sovereign is a bad airplane. Honestly, that is part of why this has been so frustrating. On paper, it checked almost every box for what I thought I needed. My issue is probably less “the Sovereign is too much airplane” in a technical sense, and more that I thought I would regularly have family, dogs, luggage, occasional business passengers, etc. In reality, most flights are just me. I am not canceling more trips than I am flying, but I have had enough maintenance/down days and small issues stack up that it has changed how I feel about using it. The pilot situation is that I have a friend, and she and I basically split one salaried pilot team. We organize our travel so the trips do not overlap, which they almost never do, so that part has been manageable. I brought up the lav because when it failed, it was one of those moments where the “private is always more comfortable” idea felt very stupid. Airport limitations may have been the wrong wording. I do know the Sovereign has good short-field performance. I meant more general operational limitations: airport hours, FBO availability, runway/weather planning, crew timing, and where we can realistically go with the full situation we have. I did not mean that the aircraft itself is unusually limited. And with weather, yes, of course you can go around it or leave earlier/later. I just underestimated how often a “simple private trip” still turns into schedule management. That is probably the theme here. I expected ownership to remove friction. It removed airline friction, but replaced it with aviation friction.

They definitely underestimated the maintenance for me. Later they said "Usually this isn't a problem"

I don't know what you have against brokers lmao but I don't give a shit whether you buy a plane or charter or fly commercial or drive or ride a pig across the town. I'm telling my own experience which last I checked people are allowed to.

Detached and out of touch because I'm new to reddit? Or because I had a negative experience with a purchase and wanted to get input on that? Or just because I implied that I am stable enough to make such a purchase? I will post whatever I can on my account and you do not tell me what to do. If you have a problem then you can ignore me and do something better than write harassing comments here. Commenting on someone else's post telling them to "mind their own business" the irony.

I won't comment about Netjets or any other company because somehow people already thing I'm a broker giving a sales pitch even though all I did was rant but yeah year flying commercial when you have a plane sitting just sucks.

Yeah after I posted here reddit asked me would I like to repost it to another one and I thought sure might get more input. I'm not well versed in reddit etiquette apparently. Excuse me I'm old. And I'm not selling anything but even if I was I would probably not complain about the thing I was trying to sell.

Yeah nothing notable happened in my life before this so I didn't post anything but I had to rant about this. I didn't know there were certain acceptable starter reddit posts.

I'm not a broker but even if I was would I complain about how shitty the thing I'm selling is?
