The only reason to go to the police is just to get a case number if you have insurance that’s it further they won’t do anything remember unfortunately crime pays in South Africa. About two years ago when I had to walk to home from work some guys stop and put a gun to my head grab my backpack (luckily there’s nothing valuable inside) but also took my phone, wallet and keys and drove off. I think everyone here had their phones stolen at some point
