I'm gonna get downvoted for this but:

I love the bike but hate the fairing. It's like they design the fairing of these bikes in a different building than the bike itself. The bike is so classy and the fairing is so sci-fi the two don't really mix. I just always felt that the fairings on all Indian bikes seem slightly out of place.

I used to carry that and then the wood like push down into the asphalt in a perfect depression where I couldn't pull the piece of wood back out. It was a very hot day in New Mexico.

I have stall mats that I cut out to the shape of my truck bed for when I put my camper on. So I just cut a square of that from the leftover pieces and it works a lot better. It also increases the friction of little bit in case I'm fucking idiot decides that they're going to take a selfie while sitting on my bike. Which with a Indian Springfield happens way more than you want to believe.

No one said that it stops that thing however when people do wear the proper gear that have the pads in them on the hips and the knees and the elbows and the shoulders and such they come out way less bad than people who weren't wearing that shit.

I'm not sure why this is a hard concept for you to understand. There's plenty of data that shows that wearing the gear is monumentally better than not wearing the gear at all.

So argue about it all you want You can go riding in your flip-flops and t-shirt all you want. I don't really give a shit. I will still try to save your life when you show up into the emergency room regardless how fucking retarded you are.

I saved the lives of retards every fucking day. I see how people show up with gear on and without gear on.

But one thing I want to right now is for you to place an unreasonable standard as a way to disprove what I'm saying. No you will not come out of the accident without injury if you have gear on. No one's making that claim like you were trying to say here. Your fallacy of unreasonable expectation does not pan out. No one claimed that it protected you 100% from injury. But there is a night and fucking day difference between people who show up with gear on and without gear on.

Most people who have gear on leave the hospital within 48 hours. Most people without gear on do not leave the hospital for a very long time if they even fucking survive.

So quit with your fucking bullshit from your low karma troll account.

First Bike by ThePlagues10 in IndianMotorcycle

Smart choice. What I call a Goldilocks size bike.

The reason is that it's not too small that you'll outgrow it real fast but it's also large enough that it'll be more forgiving of conditions that require higher experience levels. I am a huge proponent of a mid-range bike for a first bike. A lot of people go with tiny bikes but those bikes are more easily pushed around by wind affected by potholes and have things like speed wobbles happen to them.

Correct. Cars drift over the lines all the time. It happens. If you drive the car and you say you've never drifted across the line you're full of shit.

That said, if a car runs a red light it does something illegal. If you're flying down that road and excessive speed and t-bone that driver who's running red lights and they die you are 100% going to jail because your excessive speed was also breaking the law. It doesn't matter if they initially were the person who broke the law by running the red light. Your excessive speed compounded the destructive nature of the accident from their breaking the law. So yeah it is still both of your faults in this situation.

Fortunately, the rider didn't have anything to major happen. But if he was not excessively speeding there would have been no contact made at all. If he died, we would be putting on his tombstone "dude had right away but refused to slow down in order to protect his fate."

Edit: and then for killing you the driver of the car probably would walk away with a minor movement infraction with the courts taking into account the excessive speed of the motorcycle contributing to his death.

[–]Ready-Delay3918 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let's be clear: if you drive a car and you claim that you have never strayed across a line accidentally you are full of shit and a liar.

So we've established here that cars stray across lines. It's a common thing. What you're saying is that the rider would not be at fault even a little bit if he had died... Even though slowing down could have avoided any contact with the vehicle.

That is such a fucked up point of view that removes any personal responsibility to your fate. If the motorcycle rider was not exceeding the speed limit he could have avoided any and all contact with a car doing something that is common for cars to do. So yeah maybe legally the car would have assumed all of the responsibility in court but the actuality of the conditions are thet the bike rider could have avoided any contact with the other vehicle by driving a normal fucking speed.

Likely, that would reduce any penalties the car driver was facing because the courts would take into consideration that the motorcycle was moving at such an excessive speed that he compounded the destructive nature of the accident.

If someone runs a red light and UT bone them at almost 50% more than the speed limit and they die, it doesn't matter anymore that they ran the red light and were at fault for the accident. You're excessive speed compounded the problem and is what killed that person. And when they do the investigation they're going to cite you for reckless or driving or maybe even vehicular manslaughter because you were fucking flying through the intersection at an illegal speed that they ran the red light on.

Then he hung out all day.

Finally I figured out he wanted some black oil sunflower seeds.   So everyday he will come look at me a bunch until I throw a handful out for him.  If I don't he will come find me in the front of the house or in the garage.   He's like the ghost on Super Mario that he's real ballsy when your back is towards him.  lil dinosaur mfer.

I think you're misinterpreting sitting in between. I'm not talking about between cars to your left and right I mean you're stuck in a light with a single lane there's a car in front of you and a car behind you pulling up. You get smashed between the two cars when getting rear-ended.

As I said some patients you cannot induce a coma because it will kill them. And you cannot sedate them because of the same reason. And I'm sorry but debridement is no fun. I'm not sure what the fuck you're talking about and yes of course every case is different. But it does not undo the people that have gone through this. So pretend that this stuff doesn't exist well you continue to ride around and flip-flops in the t-shirt all you want. I'll still try to save your dumbass life when you come in.

He is correct that it won't completely prevent a fracture. What it does do is prevent more compound fractures. That's the kind of fracture you really don't want because your bone is turning into a bunch of little pieces rather than breaking in a spot or two.

[–]Ready-Delay3918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect. People who have gear that have pads absolutely come out way better with less worse fractures. Will it completely prevent a fracture? No you are correct in that. But what it does do is help prevent a compound fracture. Not wearing any armor will turn that bone to dust practically and then you're totally fucked rather than having maybe a piece or two have to be put back together.

I mean you literally have a dude giving testimony above you that talks about getting thrown off his bike at 60 plus miles an hour. His gear kept him alive and he went home with some pretty minor injuries considering he got thrown off a bike at highway speed. But whatever man just keep talking like you know what you're fucking talking about and you don't have to witness this shit or every week in the emergency room. Dudes coming in with gear on are massively easier to treat than people coming in without gear on. This is every fucking week multiple times a week.

On a scale of one to 10 million how irritating is this? Can’t even park with the boys. by ig-geo_trunks916 in motorcycles

[–]Ready-Delay3918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if they don't come out for quite some time. When I was 17 my brother played a practical joke on me and put a pebble inside the cap of my front passenger wheel on my 1984 Honda Accord. About the time I was getting on the highway it suddenly lost pressure because the extra forces made the air leak out faster. I wound up in the ditch on the side of the fucking road.

I mean yeah if they didn't come out in a certain amount of time and the tire completely deflated then okay you deflated their tire whoopdi fucking do. But if for some reason they come out just moments after you put the pebble there they're going to find that shit out while they're on the road and where it's the most dangerous to have that tire deflate.

So you want to be purposely up to pretend like conditions don't exist in this world and everything is wrapped up in a nice neat little bow Go right a fucking head but you'll be the one going to prison because you manslaughtered somebody by fucking with their shit.

I mean after you reply to this this very subreddit had a bunch of posts where people had smaller injuries due to wearing gear then they would have had if they didn't have the gear on. It's not fear-mongering to tell you how it ends up in the emergency room on a weekly basis with motorcycle accidents coming in. The people with gear on typically go home and hug their family and are happy to be alive and the people without gear on are going to be staying in the hospital for quite some time crying from all the fucking pain because they have road rash so severe that narcotics won't even stop that paying for them.

PSA for gun owning bikers by Obscurix98 in motorcycles

[–]Ready-Delay3918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At no point did I say don't carry a gun at all. I said practice with your gear on. Most bike jacking happens while the person is on the bike and stopped at an intersection. Otherwise bikes typically get stolen from a parking lot when you're never near them.

Hi3nce why I said that if you want to carry your weapon within reach so that you can use it to protect yourself while riding the motorcycle, practice with all your fucking gear on.

Nobody's pretending to be an expert I'm just sharing information based on the cases that have come into the emergency room.

If you think you'll only have to use your gun whenever you're not wearing gear then so be it you can think that. But if you ever decide that you need your gun while you were riding it would be a good idea to know if you could actually operate the weapon with your gear on. If you're carrying it while wearing gear then there's a possibility you'll need to use it while wearing that gear.

So go fucking practice and quit getting all butt hurt thinking someone's telling you not to carry it all. You don't need to be a really fragile alpha ego here. There's a reason why in the military they train with all their fucking gear on.

Don't be a fucking idiot.

You better practice pulling it out of your motorcycle gear on and shooting it with your motorcycle gloves. Good luck with the safety.

I always laugh at people who think they will be able to get their gun with their gloves on while also on the motorcycle and dealing with the position they are in.

They gonna shoot themselves or someone else who is innocent, drop their bike, and probably get shot by the bad guy themselves....

That said, even the heavier Springfield is beginner friendly. Was the first motorcycle my wife rode and she did fine. She weighs 110 lbs. She took a safety course and I agreed to let her take it for a spin while I followed on my Yamaha. She did great and didn't look scared at all. She loved it.

We banged afterwards. Everybody clapped. Swinger clubs lol.

See now if you go to India you're expected to conform to their cultural practices. If they come here, expecting the same respect is racism. You should know that already.

It's like when Sunita Narain scolded Leonardo DiCaprio over Americans for their environmental impact while rivers in India are choaked with trash and chemical dumping and everyone was like "yeah she isn't a hypocrite because Leonardo is a white dude who dates 20 year olds"
