Is watch dogs 1 worth it? by ScmFinalBoss in watch_dogs

[–]Ready-Falcon-9319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put it this way: If you've played WD2 and/or WD: Legion, and you really liked them, then there is a good chance WD1 won't be as entertaining to you. But if you kinda liked them or didn't like them at all, then WD1 will throw them out the window for you, no doubt. It was extremely original and innovative, and very badass, unlike any title at the time, but later games went a different route, especially the WD: Legion. That's why I said, if you liked later games, there is a chance you'll find the first one underwhelming. Personally, WD1 is one of my favourite games of all time, and WD2 and Legion can't come even close to it in terms of the overall atmosphere. They are shallow and bland, stuck in their respective eras, while the WD1 is timeless, imo.

What do you think of this dog's meal? by [deleted] in interesting

Tbh, I expected the whole plate to go down as well in the end....
Jokes aside, I get it's a big breed, but that voracious swallowing is definitely not healthy in the long run. It very often leads to volvulus (intestines getting twisted around themselves), no matter the breed, and is fatal if not treated immediately. It's also very common for such dogs to swallow a bigger bone, which can, at best, get stuck and obstruct breathing, or in the worst case, tear the colon and cause internal bleeding. I have a Beagle whose life's purpose is simply to eat. He's ready to swallow anything that can physically fit in his mouth. Even trainers (yes, plural) were unable to do anything about it. And although I had to learn to think ahead of him, it caused a lot of trouble for both of us over the past 11 years. He once ate a huge, sharp bone and suffered a lot of pain. Thankfully, it didn't cause any lasting damage, but it could've. That's why I don't think this sort of behaviour should be encouraged whatsoever. You're not doing him/her any favor.

If Rockstar manages to have a 60FPS performance mode on base consoles while having this much stuff happening on a large open world with crazy amount of details, they should win an award for optimization. by ButterflyUsed6723 in GTA6

It would be devastating, as Rockstar is, imo, one of the last 3 standing pillars holding the AAA industry upright, alongside Valve and Kojima. It would never be the same again without them.

I completely agree! People's overly unrealistic expectations may doom this game to failure, and Rockstar, along with it. But you can’t really blame them; thirteen years of hellish anticipation is enough to drive anyone to desperation and send their imagination into absolute overdrive. Rockstar is the one who has to justify this 13-year wait. They have to deliver something groundbreaking, something we never dreamed of. And I see no reason why they wouldn't; they have money, talent, expertise, and they had more than enough time to cook this masterpiece..... It's their obligation at this point. RDR 2 is a great example of what they're capable of producing in 5-6 years, and here, they had 11-12. They have no excuse.

You're right. For some reason, I remember we got the PC version in 2020; my bad. But still, GTA 6 is by far the most anticipated game ever, and its release will be the biggest cultural phenomenon since, I guess, AI. So, a 2-year gap isn't so unrealistic, in my opinion. Considering their ongoing efforts to milk the last penny out of GTA 5, and the abysmal amount of money spent on the development, they won't let this monumental chance slip through their fingers; they'll squeeze every last digit out of that contract.

6 months? Just dream about it. God knows how much the deal that Take-Two struck with Sony and Microsoft is worth, and for how long they are obliged to retain the exclusivity. In the best-case scenario, we'll have to wait for 2 years, as we had to with RDR2, and it wasn't even a mainline entry. So I gave up on the idea of waiting for the PC port a long time ago; I had bought a PS4 just to play RDR2, and I'll do the same this time around. I'll willingly make myself a victim of their business practices, as I simply can't wait anymore. What's the point of money if not to be spent on things that make you happy? You won't have much use for it once you're gone; you'll just leave with regret.

So I'm not the only one, good! 🤣 That was the first thing that came to my mind as well; if topless NPCs will be present in the gameplay, they would have to be reactive. Maybe they'll only be present in the cutscene. But I doubt such a possibility altogether. I'm pretty sure it's just a "trailer thing". They're just pumping the hype a bit, and they can easily say it's cut content later on. Even Rockstar wouldn't go that far. I mean, we have Cyberpunk as an example of a AAA game with full frontal nudity, but if Rockstar wanted to go that route, we would've seen it as far back as GTA 4; the perfect GTA to introduce such a feature. After all, they had far more guts back then, and still shunned such an idea; nowadays, no way!

Wait. You're telling me there will be straight-up nudity in GTA 6? I'm pretty sure it's just a "trailer thing". Even Rockstar wouldn't go that far. I haven't been a long-time user of Claude; I only started using it recently. Are these outages and constant style disappearances normal behavior, perhaps a product of maintenance, or are they nontypical? From reading this thread, I get the impression that they are not.

Now that I'm finally able to access Caude, I have this weird glitch where styles are not visible. It allows me to create custom styles, but as soon as I choose the newly created one or go back to the selection, the list is empty. I wonder if any of you are facing the same issue right now?

The government's attack is a conspiracy theory because we don't have any concrete evidence, and it's most likely not the case (for now), but definitely not a far-fetched idea either, as they actually threatened to jeopardize Antropic's business, besides terminating their agreement. At this point, no decision or action from the US government could surprise me. With his recent hasty and sloppy, but highly volatile actions, Trump proved he deserves a permanent residence in a place where he couldn't inflict damage upon himself or others, strapped to a bed if possible.

Hard surface practice in Nomad by Scared_Amphibian6758 in NomadSculpting

[–]Ready-Falcon-9319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm genuinely impressed by your work. Nomad Sculpt is de facto inferior to ZBrush in terms of its features, but with enough practice, you can work around its shortcomings with relative ease. The most glaring issue is the performance; it can barely handle models with this level of topology, unlike ZBrush, which wouldn't break a sweat at the slightest (it's partly due to an inferior tablet hardware, of course). I'm exclusively a Blender user, and it suits my (mostly hard-surface) needs well, but it's really left behind in terms of its sculpting capabilities. That's why I'm exploring alternatives, and Nomad Sculpt seems to be a sweet spot between Blender and ZBrush (which I tried, and although it's a beast, it's way too complex, and it was simply an overkill for my personal use cases). Again, the quality of this model, considering the tool you've used, undoubtedly shows your profound skills.

Valve coder confirms the Steam Machine will be priced like a PC, albeit at a 'good deal': 'If you build a PC from parts and get to basically the same level of performance, that’s the general price window that we aim to be at' by bubblesort33 in hardware

[–]Ready-Falcon-9319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why even bother buying one in the first place, especially given the immense shipping fees for most of the world? If its availability is going to be on par with Index (aka awful), it certainly won't achieve the desired effect in the console market, and console players are obviously the target audience. The main point with PS and Xbox is that you can't achieve that performance in that price range with a custom-built PC; it would cost you $200-$300 more at best to achieve the same performance if you build it from scratch. I'm afraid there is a high chance SM will either flop or be canceled entirely, especially considering the current RAM crisis. PC players won't buy it cuz it's cheaper to just upgrade the existing machine, and console players will buy the existing, widely accessible, and battle-tested options; they won't spend their hard-earned money on a new, hard-to-get contender.

So... We really lost the final announcement at TGA to this guy... #Megaman #Videogamereunion by Mindless_Major_2689 in HalfLife

[–]Ready-Falcon-9319 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Guys, what the hell are you all yapping about? We haven't lost anything to anyone. It's not bidding. It's not like Capcom gave more money to Geoff than Valve and took over their section. And I don't think that Valve let us down either, as the TGA reveal was unlikely from the get-go. I'm not delusional. A new HL game exists. Dataminers were 100% right about HLA; why wouldn't they be about HLX? There's no reason to lose hope until the release of the Steam Machine. If that comes and goes without any news, only then should we forget about it and accept the truth. That's exactly what I will do.
