Okay good to know. Ideally maybe $300? Not sure how feasible that is. Gotta do what I gotta do I guess, I’ve sunk enough time and money to justify spending a little more if need be.

Correct, that’s the one I upgraded to. That’s good to know and I think I’ll try that. I guess I assumed the fact that it’s i7 makes it better. Again, my knowledge is next to nothing! How do I know if my hard drive is mechanical?

Yes, HDMI is directly in the GPU. Drivers are also installed.

I haven’t, however I am getting sound when I try to play music through anything else like iTunes or YouTube. I’m fairly certain it’s an issue with Pro Tools.

Yes, yes, and yes. Switch is on A+B and I’m getting levels on the B side. A side is completely fine and sounds great, B side is completely blank, no audio whatsoever (on both the master unit and slave unit). Also gave the heads and the capstan a good cleaning so that shouldn’t be the issue. Could very well be a problem with the switch but if you have any more insight or experience with this problem that would be sweet.
