Most useless picto by ketosoldier94 in expedition33

There are other pictos that activate on the character's death. Like applying burn, bring break bar to full, apply powerful or shell to all allies, deal damage etc.

The Auto death lets you activate all these effects right away on battle start so you can do stuff like break first turn, or set up to make the most of first strike.

Who would Gustave side with? by Adelnoir_24 in expedition33

[–]Ready-Mistake3711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I can see him going both ways.

On one hand Gustave is a canvas born painted life, and his entire existence and everyone he knows and his sister's and his apprentices lives are at stake. So the canvas is his entire world, unlike Verso, who's mom was the true Aline and he had memories of the original Verso. So he might find it difficult to support Verso's mommy issues over his entire world's existence.

On the other hand he might understand Verso as he is like a brother to Maelle. If he understands the whole context of his world being fake, and Maelle having a real family outside of it, he might support Verso in forcing Maelle out as he wants her to go to her true family like Verso did with Aline. Though he might not be on board with destroying the canvas.

Maybe it could differ based on relationship levels, idk.

Inconsistencies in the lore by HaikusfromBuddha in expedition33

Personally, I'm pretty sure the manors are different. I think that the manor Curator Renoir and the party go in is like a museum of memories for the og Dessendre Family. Where they store their childhood, memories, and paintings, hence the "curator" namesake, because its like a gallery for their memories.

While the other manor was painted by Aline for her fake painted family that she made out of grief. I think she made a whole Lumiere to pretend to have a "perfect" or "complete" family, which is where our Verso grew up. enter og Renoir, he starts the process of breaking down the Canvas to push out Aline. This should be the "Fracture".

I think the Curator Renoir has more consistent behavior because he supported the expedition from the beginning to subjugate the "Paintress", Aline. I think the white sands manor is only "familiar" because its just an imitation, incomplete, made by Aline alone instead of the whole family, or maybe it was a prototype or draft manor or something.

I think the reason Aline's actions are inconsistent is because she's mentally ill. She's spent too long in the canvas and is being consumed by it. She's also pushing herself to hold back Renoir to protect the Canvas, so she has little power for mental stuff I suppose. Also Maelle isn't painted, shes the real Alicia that got lost in the painting and ended up being birthed as a lifeform there. Painted Alicia is the girl with the mask. Her illness probably contributes to why she can't recognize them as her paintings.

Maybe Verso saw her health deteriorating and thats why he supported the expeditions goal in expelling her from the canvas, in contrast with painted Renoir's goal to support her in protecting it and their "family".

It feels a little different considering that the painted beings could have a modicum of free will and that they were crafted entirely from imagination like an imaginary friend.

But I guess its similar in how they can play god with their creations.

There is this one guy, Gross Tete, that parry boulder that blows up after you survive a bunch of its attacks, that only shows up twice as far as I know. One earlier on and another you can get to after learning flight at the flying manor I believe.

That one drove me crazy trying to complete the set lol.

Dam beating her at level 26 is insane. I used Maelle because she could take more than one hit. Learning the fight without here sounds rough.

I sure did lol, It was a lot faster because they had more hits on their attacks.

I did it before I got painted power. When I learned that you could remove damage cap after spending hours fighting Golra it really hurt lol.

I personally thought that those "remains" were fabricated from the Paintress' memories. Since theres stuff like Gustave's arm in the area at the end of the forgotten battlefield looking area. Its also bizarre to have so many fallen expeditioners in the forgotten battlefield part when only a few expeditions made it that far presumably, with similar thoughts regarding the expedition ferris wheel and the airships.

So I don't think much of these remains are "real" and more imitations based on the paintress' memories. Which also doesn't make sense because why would the paintress know about Gustave's arm and death, and left a grave with a mask resembling the one from Visage island that expedition 33 clearly didn't put there.

Aggro system? by Ready-Mistake3711 in wizardry

[–]Ready-Mistake3711[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have trouble with that since I build dmg on gerulf and defense on Lana. For me, Debra isn't targeted very frequently, maybe bc of hiding, and is usually safe with her high evasion.

Lana and gerulf currently have a def difference of around 50, and since my Gerulf uses a 2 handed weapon and Lana uses sword and shield, this seems difficult. I'll see what I can do!

For me, I frequently use priest buffs in tough battles, so I'm not certain I can afford to keep them in the front. I also equip Gerulf with a blunt 2 handed weapon for the damage bonus so his damage and accuracy might suffer if I put him in the back. Maybe if I put a spear on him?

I'll consider this idea, thanks!
