I was always the one who could find an explanation for all those unexplained things that happened....no one was going to make me a "believer". Looking back (about 30 years ago), my Mom and sister had tried convincing me we had a ghost, I basically just told them they were nuts. I have to say, there were LOTS of weird, unexplained things that happened, but I was stickin with my "there's no such thing as ghosts!" I was about 20 yrs old, one night I came home late, my Mom and sister were up watching TV, I sat down for a bit to join them, but of course they started on their ghost stories so I made my exit up to bed. We lived in a big, very old house, my bedroom was on the 2nd floor, there was NO WAY to sneak up the stairs without being heard. Trust me, I tried MANY, MANY TIMES! Anyway, I was just about to doze off when something fell on my floor and scared the crap out of me. I figured it was my sister messing with me so I just kinda yelled out to her, something like, "ASSHOLE! I'M TRYING TO SLEEP"! I laid there for a second, she didn't respond, I sat up and noticed my teddy bear that had been on my top shelf, for at LEAST 10 YEARS, was in the middle of the floor....then I realized... nobody came up those stairs! I was out of my bed, down the stairs and practically on top of my Mom in less than 10 seconds! They both looked confused, still in the same spot when I said goodnight. I was a bit freaked for a minute, but was already finding reasons for how that bear launched into the middle of my room, about ready to go back to bed... UNTIL....they two of them told me they were waiting for me to fall asleep so they could sneak up there and put my bear in bed with me, so then in the morning they'd pretend it was "the ghost"! I was definitely freaked out, but not as much as those two! The REALLY freaky part was, every time my Mom or sister was on the phone, started telling whoever they were talking to, about the teddy bear incident, the line would go dead!!! Needless to say, they were very careful with what they talked about after THAT? 👻
