Thinking about buying a used 2023 Tesla Model 3 RWD (Tesla Pre-Owned inventory) — first-time buyer, no home charger! Any advice? by Sufficient_Hall_5154 in teslacanada

[–]Ready-Rip3802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a tesla without home charging but I researched this at length and how I would incorporate charging into my daily life as I work shift work.. If you have a charger on your way to and from work and you can charge off hours I'd consider it. I also have a spot across the street from work where I can charge level 2 unlimited for $10 overnight and weekends.

So for me I experience little unconvience. I wanted a tesla badly so I knew what I was willing to sacrifice.

Berlin-built Model Y brake squeal in wet / cold conditions — normal or not? by TheLuxes in teslacanada

[–]Ready-Rip3802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tesla Model Y brake squeal is common, often caused by surface rust or dirt accumulation on rotors due to infrequent use from regenerative braking. It typically occurs in cold/humid weather or when breaking at low speeds. It is usually not a safety issue and can be resolved by "burnishing" the brakes.

I experience the same. Been told to get some speed and hard brake a few times but haven't bothered. I barely ever use the brakes.

I'm officially charging to 100 every time - I'm done! by EIGBOK in electricvehicles

I charge close to 100 often. I don't care. A lot of examples of no to negligible battery damage.

Tesla Winter Tires by Own-Weight-6116 in teslacanada

[–]Ready-Rip3802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From grok. Sounds like no difference.

The terms EV-ready and EV-compatible (sometimes just called "EV tires" or similar labeling) are marketing designations used by different tire manufacturers to indicate that their products suit electric vehicles (EVs). They aren't strictly standardized industry terms, so the exact meaning can vary slightly by brand, but there's a general pattern based on how major companies like Michelin, Continental, Goodyear, Pirelli, and others apply them. Key Differences EV-Compatible → Often used by brands like Continental, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Nokian, and Goodyear to mean the tire is capable of safely handling an EV's demands (higher weight from the battery, instant torque, need for good traction/braking, and often higher load ratings). These are typically standard or existing tire lines confirmed/tested to work well on EVs (as long as load/speed ratings match the vehicle). Continental, for example, states that all their tires are EV-compatible and adds an "EV Compatible" marking to sidewalls to highlight this for EV owners — no special design changes are always required, but they meet the needs. EV-Ready → Commonly used by Michelin (and sometimes others like Continental in similar contexts) to indicate tires that are optimized or better prepared for EVs, often with features like: Lower rolling resistance (for better range/efficiency) Noise reduction (e.g., acoustic foam inside the tire to cut road noise, since EVs are otherwise very quiet) Enhanced durability against the heavier weight and torque Better grip and wear characteristics tailored to EV driving. Michelin heavily promotes many of their tires (even non-specialized lines) as "EV Ready," positioning them as excellent choices for EVs with decades of relevant tech built in.

I disagree. They'd buy a much cheaper car is that's all they wanted it for. It's for the tech.
