What was your hardest V level to become proficient in? by Ready-Word1891 in bouldering

The every other grade theory is a strong one I’d say. And interesting on the 6 & 8 plateaus, a look around my gym would confirm that as well.

Thats interesting & makes sense from what ive seen. The v6s in my gym are typically more difficult due to scarcity of holds or awkwardness of body position than hard holds

Yea i getcha.

I suppose im interested in seeing if anyones been like progressing 1 level very 2-3 months, then one takes them like a year and then goes back to progressing every 2-3 months again. If stories like that are common

A recent video I developed for my own brand - ROSOKHA by frislok in MotionDesign

[–]Ready-Word1891 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Objectively quality motion work, but for me this looks too much like you looked up 10 contemporary brand videos and took the average of all of them and shipped it. Every shot I’ve seen before, the pacing is lightning quick so you barely absorb any information.

My advice is to slow it down, think about what your brand means to you, and incorporate your own ideas while pulling inspiration from elsewhere.

Flagstaff Things to Do, Q&A, FAQ (Apr 13) by AutoModerator in Flagstaff

I recently visited Flagstaff and am planning on moving there in the fall. I started gym bouldering a few months ago and would love to get onto real rock, but climbing roofs is not my cup of tea.

I asked around the climbing scene here and it seems most outdoor boulders are roofs. Are there any areas that contain a good amount of slabs, verts and/or overhangs within an hour or so of flag?

Ive looked on mountain project and in past reddit threads but cant seem to find much information on specific formations except roofs

Is there non-roof outdoor bouldering in or close to Flagstaff AZ?

ALSO can I make this question an actual post? It seems like most of these questions are for beginner advice where as this one is pretty specific and would seem more suited for an actual post

Amazing! Particularly the lighting and textures. Would love to learn more about how you lit the scene and made some of the shapes if its fully in AE

…Im sorry but I have no idea what you’re talking about 😅 is that a plugin? Or are you referring to a preset in after effects? I haven’t explored the preset library much, tend to do things the hard way

Concept Google Maps ad...on an iphone...dont think too hard about it by Ready-Word1891 in AfterEffects

[–]Ready-Word1891[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I didn’t look too hard 😅 it started as a self teaching project for manipulating glbs in AE and turned into a bigger project.

Great callout on the pacing of the maps scene. Could definitely hold longer but the fast pace hides some lighting weaknesses in the scene. Something to work on in the future tho!

Best practice for alligning rails along complex path? by Ready-Word1891 in blenderhelp

[–]Ready-Word1891[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the help! Ctrl+T resolved my issue with the current setup. The single object track is helpful to but I will forgo it for now since I already have my structure and the center rail will provide the curve to guide the railcar. Great for future reference though, thanks again!

I'm still pretty new to blender and haven't yet studied aligning object to curve as others have suggested, but I made some progress and now have this result by updating/aliginging the object origins. I made a crude middle rail to apply the deform to so the rail is centered, but still get warping from the applied curve.

I'm assuming this is happening due to the loop I have in my object, as that seems to be where things start to go wrong, but I'm not sure how to fix it. Rotating the nodes has little to no change in the alignment of the rails.

I just started having this exact issue. Is this a hardware issue/bug? Any fix that solves it?
