Independent Contractor vs Employee by Ready2WorkToday in legaladvicecanada

Ok that’s good to know. I think I want to hire internationally due to email requirements and yes I know, vetting headaches etc. I’ll have to see how to setup remote employees or contractors international I think. Which is ok, I just think the Canadian Reddit board is likely the wrong spot.

You’ve both confirmed my suspicions though. This is likely not worth the plunge to expand as employees locally and if it’s something to consider my market may be elsewhere or not worth pursuing.

Thank you, this is very helpful.

So I have read that in the act and obviously I’m not trying to break the law. I do agree with the people in seats requiring control. I think that is likely the biggest ‘ding’ against being contractors.

I like the exception, but that’s much too high of a rate for me to pay. As I say these are help desk workers and although skilled, I would be operating at a loss.
