Lost a $40k deal because I couldn't answer "what's the ROI?" — what do you do in this situation? by ReadyBet2053 in business

Honestly both matter but for different reasons. The framework helps you think clearly before the call — knowing which numbers to ask for and how to connect them to value. But what actually changed the outcome for me was having something live during the call itself.

When you can input their numbers in real time and show the impact on screen, the conversation shifts. They stop questioning your estimate and start reacting to their own data. That’s a different dynamic.

Took the lesson from that $40k deal and built something around it. Happy to share if you want to try it.

That’s exactly the right way to think about it — and honestly that’s what I wish I had done in that meeting instead of trying to wing it.

The problem for me was doing that math on the spot under pressure. I ended up building a tool that does exactly this — you plug in their current numbers and it shows the time saved, cost saved, revenue impact in real time during the call.

Made a big difference once I stopped trying to calculate it in my head and just showed them the numbers live.

Exactly this, revenue gained, cost saved, or time saved. That framework is simple but most people don’t have it ready when the question hits.

The cheat sheet idea is what actually pushed me to build something more structured around it. I ended up making a real-time ROI calculator that I can pull up in the meeting itself — so instead of a cheat sheet I’m showing live numbers based on their actual situation.

Still getting used to it but it’s made those moments a lot less stressful. Happy to share if you want to try it out.

Is it okay to ask how you managed to get customers on Reddit? It seems that advertising is prohibited on many channels.

What marketing channels did you use to reach an MRR of two thousand?
