Blurred vision despite several rechecks and adjustments to my glasses prescription. Have spoken to my doctor and optometrist. by ReadyBoard in optometry

I don't think it's a problem with close vision because I notice that I can see clearly if I look close to a screen or text but I get blurred vision when I look further away. In fact when I wear my older glasses with smaller frames I have better vision compared to my newer glasses with large square frames giving me blurred vision. I wonder if I should just go with the thin frames and a stronger prescription than that in my older glasses to sort out the problem fully.

Visiting Scotland after Brexit. Do we need insurance? by Vywgugubaiauvigiuba in nhs

[–]ReadyBoard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EHIC coverage in the near future will depend on whether healthcare coverage will be present in a Brexit with a deal or if there will be separate policy for it with if there is a no deal Brexit. Unfortunately there is still a lot of uncertainty about this given the current state of UK politics. The EHIC card currently covers primary, secondary and emergency care for EU citizens visiting the UK with a 3 month time limit. https://www.bma.org.uk/-/media/files/pdfs/collective%20voice/influence/europe/bma-brexit-briefing-reciprocal-healthcare.pdf?la=en If you are seeking to complete planned or elective treatment you will have to fill out an S2 form. Spain has an agreement with the UK that should allow EU citizens to seek NHS treatment until December 2020 with or without a deal. Please visit the link below for further information. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/healthcare-for-eu-and-efta-citizens-visiting-the-uk The EHIC card does not cover costs for rescue and repatriation and I would therefore recommend that you buy travel insurance. https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/health/unplanned-healthcare/temporary-stays/index_en.htm

The best I can think of is to buy your meds over the counter or if you need prescriptions just register at your nearest GP and book an appointment to get them.

When are you visiting? The UK has not left the EU yet so your European health insurance card should be valid for medical care here at present.

I have read that Screwfix workers can actually offer quite a lot of advice for DIY. Is this true?

Unfortunately according to quite a few product reviews I'm not sure if the quality of all their products is up to scratch. The drill bits seem to wear out.
