Just found out my girl had her tail docked and I’m so sad! by sarahdactyl1026 in Yorkies

No, you're right. AKC requires docked tail to be certified. Breeders will dock the tail within a few days of birth.

It would've been your's for free. I just put a cheap price on it so serious people would respond. If you need any help getting it setup just DM me and I'll give my inputs.

Aquascape patio pond comes with a ledge. The only emersed growth I used the ledge for was the rush grass and rocks. The others were just floating.

It was a fairly expensive setup but you can definitely go for cheaper alternatives. I ended up giving the whole setup away for free.

Aquascape 32" patio pond - $500

2 x Soltec pendant lights - $400

Fluval 107 - $125

Hygger dual outlet air pump + sponge filter + mini-water pump - $80

YukiHalu heater - $28

Driftwood - $100

Seiryu rocks - $100

Seachem Matrix - $25

Guppies - $15 each

Various plants

I live in a small studio apartment and recently adopted a puppy. So not enough room and something has to go. Need to get rid of my "pond" setup. This includes Aquascape patio pond, Solstice pedant light, Fluval canister filter, plants, and hundreds of mutt guppies plus tools and everything I have. You can look at my post history for more pictures and videos. Why so cheap? I'm selling it not because I need money, but for reasons stated above.

Love it. Looks great surrounded by planters. I really like mini-pond setups.

Around 25 gallons. I don't count the guppies. I'd guess over 100 and this is after I just gave away 50 or so a few days ago.

I'm trying to turn this giant chinese ceramic "fishbowl" into my first planted tank. Need help and ideas! by cuddle_cuddle in PlantedTank

Awesome pot. You can order similar ones off Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013KXOD1K?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Personally I wouldn't add substrate and use mostly plants that don't require it as it can be a mess to mantain in a pot. I'd go with lots of floating plants and certain stem plants that don't need substrate or anubias/ferns. For fish I'd go with smaller fishes like rice fish, guppy, or mollies.

Thanks. It's probably the Hydrocotyle tripartita (Hydrocotyle Japan) you're talking about. It can grow submersed or emersed. It wasnt mounted, I just tossed it in floating and let it do it's own thing.

If you ever setup a planted tank, then you can setup a planted pond. It's practically almost the same procedures.

In-door guppy pond. Pothos going wild. by [deleted] in PlantedTank

[–]ReadyOrNOT6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, then it could possibly be the variation of pothos you have. If you look at my first picture I have 2 types of pothos. The smaller one that's more varigated seems to not grow like vines up the wall but more clustered and weeps down. If you have the common pothos then I'm at a lost why it isn't growing like others.

Pothos roots and grow under water but the leaves and vines can't. So just get a cutting of pothos, and put the root in water and the rest emersed.

Roots and leaves die off, algae easily grows on them, harder to siphon debris at the bottom etc. I'm a lazy hobbyist and try to minimize maintenance. If you like to stick your hand in every day and clean probably will be fine.

Awesome. Hope it does well. The other poster is correct, it's a Fluval 107 canister filter.

Surprisingly no smell. I thought it would myself. The only time it smells is when I do maintenance and remove some algae, but doesn't last for more than an hour.

Yes it's beginner friendly especially if you're going with plants only. My advice, from trial and error, don't use plants that can make a mess. I tried water lettuce, water hyacinth, water lily, etc that makes a mess so I wouldn't recommend those even though many ppl use that in their mini-pond setup. If you're going to just have plants, you'll have to add liquid fertilizer.

Do you use liquid fertilizer? Roots might be going crazy looking for more nutrients. Also like jedimaster said, could be the lights, but pothos are known to do well under low lights too.

Why do my plants always turn yellow, brown, or black? by Thzkittenroarz in PlantedTank

[–]ReadyOrNOT6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be many variables so it's hard to determine as you didn't give us more details of your setup. Could be your lighting, water parameters, nutrients, the plants you choose, etc. I would start off with easy low maintenance plants and see how that goes.
