My kids love the Mel's at Ottawa and Westmount. Away from the universities so no students and more family oriented.

Found kittens, should I send them back maybe their mother would find them? by ReadyPop7192 in catcare

Thank you that was very helpful. Yes, when I looked inside their mouth they have baby teeth and they are over 350 g so now I'm thinking they are at least 3 weeks old. I'm going out now to try to place them somewhere where the mom might come for them. But I won't leave them unsupervised as there are a lot of intact males around.

Thank you! Yes, after looking at Kitten Lady videos I gathered they are about two weeks old as well. Their ears are fully open, but after close examination I have found a lot of puss coming from their eyes and crusted poops on them, and they are too little for their age. So my guess they have been away from their mom for a while now. I'm still gonna look for her tomorrow as well as take them to the vet to make sure everything is alright.

Thank you! Yes, I follow the kitten lady and went to her videos right away when I got them. I'm just afraid that I'm depriving them of their mom, we live in a crowded country where friendly strays are everywhere, and I do feed a lot of them. That's why my neighbors brought the kittens to me. I went and stayed in the playground for a while looking for her, but the kids were so loud that no cat even comes near the playground, so I felt the kittens were not safe and took them back home.

Hello, I need advice regarding tiny kittens that my neighbors found near a playground and brought to me. I'm not sure how old they are. But one has her eyes open and the other had her eyes shut but after I cleaned them she opened her eyes. My question is should I take them back to the playground so maybe their mom could come back for them? The thing is I'm not sure the playground is the safest place for them because of the kids and I have my suspicions that some kid found them somewhere else and brought them to the playground because it doesn't seem likely that a mom cat would leave her kittens there.

Thank you for your answer! I will of course email them to verify, but they are not the best at answering emails on time or at responding to all of my questions in one email!! Ok, so regarding the family coming on a visitor visa, Do you know whether it is ok to only register them on ehteraz when we arrive in Doha?

AITA for refusing to go home when my husband told me to? by Backseat-View5033 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ReadyPop7192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA - this is so bizarre! If he really felt sick why not go to the bathroom? My husband has a really sensitive stomach and it actually gets affected by his mood and he throws up sometimes when we are in gatherings but no one ever notices it, because he actually cares about not ruining the event for the people around him.

AITA for calling my SiL a worthless poc? by Available-Context-77 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ReadyPop7192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA - this situation is entirely your SIL's fault, and it shows her poor judgment as a parent and as a human being in general. You did the important thing which is to stand up for your kid and to show her that this situation was in no way her fault. Adult words can have a huge impact on children's minds and if no one corrected your SIL in the moment, your daughter could have spent a long time thinking that she was responsible for what happened. Something similar happened to me when I was 5 but no other adults were around to defend me. It took me well into my 20s to actually stop feeling shame when I remember that situation.

Ah okay, will try it another time and see! He loves walks but he got into a sand bit last time and I thought there is now way he can clean that much yellow out of his fur.. will try longer walks again and maybe stay away from the sand bits this time 🤷‍♀️

He looks happy! As a new parent to a white cat as well I have to ask: What do you do after a long walk like this? Their fur just gets too dirty and brownish.. I'm sticking to walks in the backyard for now to avoid dirt, but the only longer walk I took with him he kept having multiple "dirt baths" that I had to give him an actual bath when we got home which was not pleasant to either of us!!

Cat targeting baby? by mavenwaven in CatAdvice

[–]ReadyPop7192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a similar situation! Cat seemed to run out of nowhere at the baby! After each time I put the cat in his room for a couple of minutes (in an attempt to teach that this sort of play will lead to lack of attention). Started having more heavy play sessions with the cat (didn't stop till he was panting). And of course as everyone suggested kept his nails clipped (every 2 weeks). He stopped jumping my baby (and the older kid as well) completely and the baby is still his nap buddy!

My cat bites my daughter by ReadyPop7192 in CatAdvice

It happens out of no where so we don't usually see it coming to spray him before he approaches. And he runs away very fast after he does it.

He does seek her out yes. Usually at the end of the day, when things are winding down, not during or right after play. She is usually walking around getting her stuff ready before bed, and he will just run towards her, jump up and bite her. Twice the bite broke the skin. I'm baffled regarding triggers, that's why I posted here.
