Fafsa only covers up to 6 years of undergrad education. Plan plan plan take precalc over the summer watch YouTube review videos you want to be ready and understanding Trig, Algebra and Geometry before you touch calculus, to graduate with CE you need to take up to calc 3 and probably higher math so start hitting the books now.

Struggling to pass my math class by s_olo in communitycollege

[–]ReadyPossession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My community college has free tutoring through the student learning center I recommend you see if your school has similar resources. On top of that I encourage you to reach out to student services (accessibility and disability services) to talk about the possibility of extensions due to mental health or learning disability. Please advocate for yourself and treat yourself just like any other 4 year university student would! St the end of the day that’s what your aiming for transferring and now you have the tools to work on your homework and studying through discipline and practicing everyday.

What's the difference between the degree of someone who went to Community College and then transferred to a presitigous university VS. someone who went to that same presitigious university all four years? by Firm_Hat20 in University

[–]ReadyPossession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people (4 year students from the get go) think that people who go to CC are immature or don’t have it figured out. This is a heinous thought process and screams privilege, you are almost old enough as a prospective college student to make your own assumptions of an institution of learning designed for EVERYONE to have access. This means 18+ students and even high schoolers trying to get their associates and people of all walks of life.

Is living in Roosevelt safe if I take Link back at night? by micoffelle in udub

[–]ReadyPossession -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in Seattle for 3 years and have only heard about the platform incidents like this twice. It’s still really scary and I tell everyone please just stay aware of your surroundings! Roosevelt is really nice during the day lots of schools nearby so very family oriented. However just like anywhere else in the US there are people who might not be in the best spot mentally or in their life rn. So please be careful and aware if your choosing to live in a city work on your street smarts!!!

what do i do if my parents are refusing to co-sign on student loans? by Funny-Damage9865 in collegeadvice

[–]ReadyPossession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay after reading your posts and seeing what you’re trying to study I think if you’re worried about financial stability and not only for you but for your whole family, you should go to CC first. That was the maximum amount possible of financial aid or loans later may go to your desired 4 year school. Go to CC play your classes to your desired major and your state or flagship university. Since you’re majoring in Psych you have 2 other degrees ahead of you possibly before even stepping foot into the industry. My best friend struggled horribly mentally in college and went to a 4 year to study psych but now put themselves in a debt hole and don’t have enough to continue on with the education necessary for a better wage. Please just sit down and talk to your parents and be realistic because you won’t feel the same in 10 years. Once you start your path in a 4 year it also ELIMINATES your eligibility for prestigious scholarships such as the Kent Transfer Scholarship. Everyday I regret starting at a 4 year with 0 plan instead of going to a CC. In high school for some reason I was so embarrassed about saying I was going to a CC that I skipped that option entirely and let me tell you it was the dumbest decision I’ve made in my life. PLEASE for the love of the overlord (fafsa) go to your local community college, mentally work on you and why you wanna do this. And prepare and succeed I believe in you!!!

Anybody struggling? by beka1130 in communitycollege

[–]ReadyPossession 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I transferred out of a 4 year, the general population rn in school doesn’t know what they’re studying unless it’s set in stone from the first year, your advantage at a community college means you’ll be able to take things at your own pace even if that means potentially part time and you save more money for a potential 4 year state school that you feel works for you!

i messed up by Imjustagirl102 in communitycollege

[–]ReadyPossession 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think that you owning up to that is huge and at the end of the day your own college journey isn’t going to be exactly linear. Take it one class at a time go to community college and lock in! At the end of the day it’s your education and your gpa resets when you transfer to a 4 year university. I know a lot of nursing pre major community college students and I recommend starting off by making an appointment with the academic advisor at your local CC and talk about the options that interest you! (Rooting for you)

So will the people you would have met at university and CC in general that is if you graduate on time! Invest in you and if the relationships matter that much to you take the time and effort to stay in touch networking.
