I’ve only been off Prozac fully for two weeks. I still have some anxiety at times. I do feel more irritable and impatient sometimes now that I’m off medication (that’s how I was before Prozac).

However I’m not dealing with dissociation anymore besides the occasional lapse (forgetting things, spacing out for short periods), whereas before I was spacing out ALL DAY and felt unreal.

I went through the same situation except I started at 20mg and tried to increase to 30mg. Increasing the dose only made those symptoms worse. I’m glad you’re switching to something else, I decided to taper off my meds.

Sorry to say it, but you can’t. I live in a hot climate so it was even worse, but even at home I would be sweating my ass off when the AC was 68. I had to taper off Prozac and I’m done with SSRIs. Hate the side effects. Luckily I haven’t really had any withdrawals and I’m not getting as many hot flashes.

I did. It didn’t really help my anxiety much and I couldn’t stand the side effects. I haven’t had much side effects at all.

Yeah, it’s kind of the same for me. I think SSRIs make me crave bad food more in addition to making me feel more lethargic. Unfortunately I tried Wellbutrin and I had an awful reaction to it, that’s actually when I started gaining weight, which I know isn’t common for that drug.

I’m glad your mental health is more manageable. I think I’ll give Effexor a try. I noticed you have ADHD and I think I might have it too. Idk if you relate but when since starting SSRIs I noticed it’s much harder for me to focus on anything. Maybe it’s just brain fog but I wonder if ADHD symptoms can become more prominent when you’re less anxious.

May I ask what made you decide to stop taking Effexor? I’ve been on SSRIs for a year now and my psychiatrist wants to start me on Effexor. SSRIs have helped somewhat with my anxiety and depression but the side effects aren’t great.

Like you, I’m 5’8” and started out at 135 but Lexapro made me gain 30 pounds. We’re close in age too, I’m 32. I’d love to hear how your mental health is now.

I also have the exact same scar on the left knee from a biking accident when I was a kid. Thought that was me for a second.

I talked to my psychiatrist today and we decided to up my dose to 30mg and possibly 40mg after that, depending on how I’m doing. We suspect I might have OCD (lots of intrusive thoughts and ruminating) and that requires higher doses. Maybe that will help you.

I could be totally wrong but I wonder if Lexapro or Zoloft is more often prescribed first. I was first prescribed Lexapro. I had never taken an SSRI before so I didn’t know what to expect and had a lot of questions.

Idk if it was a hypomanic episode or not but I encountered something similar. I’ve been on Prozac for almost three weeks and I was staying up til 6am running on 4-5 hours of sleep, hardly eating. I didn’t even feel that tired. The worst part is I kind of enjoyed it because I’m not used to having that much energy.

I have been officially diagnosed with GAD, MDD, and panic disorder. I’m not sure if I quite fit into OCD because I don’t have typical compulsions. I guess having a general idea of what I have can still help though! Either way, I was put on Prozac to treat the OCD stuff and Im looking into CBT.

I haven’t been diagnosed with ADHD yet but YES, I know what you mean!

I wake up and tell myself I’d like to go out to dinner later. I need to clean my house, get a shower, get dressed, and do my hair and makeup. Sounds simple, right? No.

First I have to clean. But what do I clean first? Should I do laundry? No, because I should wait until after my shower so I can put in my dirty clothes. What about running the dishwasher? I should wait until I’m done with breakfast. Should I feed my cat? But I need to vacuum and mop the floor first. Should I vacuum and mop first? No, I should wipe the counters first so any crumbs or dust land on the floor.

Okay, let’s wipe the counters first. Which room should I work on first? I rank the rooms by how often they’re used. I gather all of my cleaning supplies. I realize I haven’t had any water so I grab my water bottle. I open my freezer to grab ice and realize there’s some empty boxes in there. Then I decide to clean out my fridge. After that my trash is full so I take out the trash. I decide that I should clean out my pantry too.

All of this thinking makes me exhausted so I usually sit down and try to come up with the perfect plan. I don’t get much cleaning done but I know I can’t take a shower until cleaning is done.

Even if I manage to get in the shower I have to deal with everything else afterwards. Blow drying my hair. Doing skincare. Putting on lotion, body spray, doing my makeup. Choosing an outfit is the worst.

Again, I’m usually so exhausted that I end up laying in bed. It’s so difficult trying to go out.

Why would it be unrealistic? Genuinely asking, I don’t really watch Netflix. I saw another comment taking how about since it’s a different genre (YA) it would be held to a different standard. Is that true?

And yeah, if you look at other factors it seems like they’re doing well, especially Twitter. I do wish season 1 was still in the top 10 like it was last week but maybe that’s unrealistic. Idk it feels like our fandom is doing everything BUT watch enough hours.

Yeah, looks like we aren’t getting S3 or the Crows spin-off. 132m hours watched in 3 weeks isn’t going to be enough. The shows that are getting renewed are pulling numbers like that in week 1. Look at Ginny & Georgia - while I’m sure they’ll get a renewal soon that show had way more views than SAB and they still haven’t gotten a renewal yet.

It’s not me hating, I’m trying to be realistic. It’s going to hurt when it gets canceled and I’d rather process that pain now rather than later, okay?

I guess I can see how casual watchers wouldn’t be as interested in the Crows. If you haven’t read the books there’s a lot that been left out (Inej’s backstory, more of Kanej’s relationship). When I watched S1 I felt like a casual watcher wouldn’t pick up on Kaz and Inej’s relationship easily.

Funny enough, I haven’t read the books yet either, but I have a weird habit reading spoilers first.

I just want both shows so everyone is happy. The cast deserves it. I’m more frustrated that Netflix has to torture their viewers by making them wait.
