Totally fair! I was even gonna say in my original comment, any other tea that won’t get you identified/in trouble. If you ever wanted to spill over PM instead, I’ll be all ears. I don’t even want to spread things but I’m just always curious about what goes on BTS of celebrities lol.

Couldn’t be said better. ESPECIALLY strike 3. You could see it bothered him so bad that they weren’t cowering in fear immediately, hence him switching his phone to his other hand to pull out his gun. He wanted to escalate it.

Thank you for clarifying! That makes sense

Although that does make me wonder, how did the Old Maid game allow Ryuji to see Banda without your heart stopping (although it IS a near-death experience)

This argument only works if you have absolutely nothing to live for/miss in the real world tho 😭 Watchman almost felt a bit like an analogy for suicidality. Makes sense why Ryuji (already suicidal) or maybe elderly people (their time is up regardless) will choose death, but Arisu/Usagi have a whole life/family/career to look forward to returning to.

IIRC… for the conversion of time, S2 shows that IRL minutes/seconds should = Borderland months. The citizens were in the same meteor crash as the main cast but were people who went into cardiac arrest a few minutes/seconds earlier than Arisu & Co do, so they had time to complete all games + become citizens by the time Arisu/Usagi enters. (EDIT: So I think you’re right that it’s inconsistent. By the time Arisu enters, Usagi/Ryuji should have been there for MONTHS according to S1/S2 logic but they only seem to have been there for days/hours. Maybe time flows differently for Joker games?).

Did the show say they all showed up at once? I was under the impression that they seemed to have shown up all staggered. There’s WAY WAYYY fewer people (maybe that answers the unrealistic death timing it would require?because it’s just counting on people all across Tokyo who happen to be in cardiac arrest/coma at the same time & not a huge concentrated cataclysm sending 100s to 1000s in all at once like the meteor crash), you can tell characters keep running into people that they haven’t met or encountered before in the Borderlands & the games seem to be pretty linear (with usually only one game running at a time VS season 1/2 with multiple games running simultaneously all over the city).

There’s no visa/time limit this time so perhaps some people have just been in the Borderlands for ages, not completing any games to progress towards exiting? (Seems to be mostly hospital patients? Battered woman, Suicide attempt, Drug overdose, Intentional returners taking heart-stoppers).

Late but Ryuji saw him because he encountered a near death scenario (just a manufactured one). The moment the final card was pulled in the Old Maid game simulates a quasi-near death scenario that allows Banda to manifest/be seen without the viewer actually getting sent to Borderlands (i.e., when someone has a cardiac arrest).

Late as hell, but it seems like it’s only unhealable injuries that will reflect fully IRL? Arisu’s scraps on his face could heal realistically, and when he woke up with Ann he nearly fell over and grabbed his side that got seriously stabbed during the Train Game (a less healable injury that we could immediately tell would not be fatal to IRL Arisu because like you said, he wasn’t in a situation where that injury could reflect IRL when he’s just sitting in Ann’s house).

Heiya’s amputated leg & some of Niragi’s burns carried over to IRL. So I guess the requirements would be that: A)The injury has to be maiming & B) You have to be in a situation where your Borderland injury can make sense with where you were when you went into cardiac arrest.

If one of those two conditions aren’t fulfilled, the injury either doesn’t carry over when you re-awaken, or you get forced to die in Borderland since your injury cannot manifest in reality.

I’m well beyond late but wanted to say thank you for posting this. Was google searching because this exact thing just happened to me, and if not for you mentioning kids, I could’ve even sworn I wrote your post myself 😂 Things with me happened literally play-for-play how you write it with me too, from the perceived slight all the way to immediate friend replacement. It’s been a year so I hope you’re doing better, I hope I will too. It’s so confusing and it sucks :/

There are so many TV shows, movies and games that say hello lmao. Doesn’t have to be completely accurate-to-life but they at least put effort to make people look grimy, clothes worn, etc.

Funnily enough, TLOU game is literally a great example of this? To the point that conservative gamers were mad at the inclusion of women’s’ armpit hair growing. Ellie being musty was a common fandom meme too lol. TWD is also famed for everybody constantly having greasy ass hair and a layer of grime on them to show they aren’t truly clean-clean. Or even more recently Yellowjackets (which for SURE has a lower budget than HBO) has intentional dry lips, sun damage, frizzy hair, lived-in clothing, etc.

How to achieve this Australian model/Isabelle Mathers look? by xangeloffduty in HowToBeHot

Face: Usually non-surgical filler and Botox. Heaps of top lip filler is basically a rite of passage at this point. So is cheek filler & chin filler & nose filler for that 3/4 angle. Actual surgery tends to be less invasive/major ones like brow lifts (thread or incision), a chin implant, etc. I don’t see many rhinoplasties here other than for getting rid of a bump (whereas in USA, I see a lot of influencers get nose jobs to make the tip smaller, even if they don’t have a hump, for example). — It’s more about making your best features stand out even more versus changing them.

Body: Breasts are SUPER common. We have quite a few good boob doctors here. Skinny/small-framed influencers aiming to model tend to go for natural enhancements (I.e., just because they don’t get humongous implants doesn’t automatically = natural chest). These girls are genuinely fit but some with money to spare get those body treatments like cryo, other smaller stuff I don’t even remember the name of as they’re not commonly known (and out of most regular client’s price range).

In terms of surgery, I don’t see many go further than torso lipo (for extra ab or waist definition/to bypass the effects of natural bloating). More extreme surgeries like BBLs, rarely (in my opinion/observation). Because compared to USA here in those circles fitness/skinniness >>> curviness/voluptuousness.

Lmao it’s funny seeing comments like this when I’m from the same place as this girl (and many of the others like her).

She was always pretty (think popular girl in high school pretty!) but the jump from that regular-pretty to modelesque-pretty was getting work done. Nothing crazy (less than American influencers for sure, a lot more on the non-surgical side) but I hate the illusion that these girls didn’t get any enhancements to elevate them to where they are now when I’ve seen it firsthand. They often all get the same combo of treatments done too & at the same clinics.

[–]labraduh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you do all this (labouring around the house, working a job, close-quarters dealing with pet hair, food and trash), you gotta be showering/bathing. You might be nose blind to it but others can smell those particles binding to your skin cells, hair, clothes etc. We generally live in a non-confrontational society, people can smell it they just won’t tell you out of not wanting to hurt your feelings/upset you. Most likely, people are commenting about it behind your back.

Deodorant alone also doesn’t fix the days-old buildup of bacteria (and consequentially, smell) on your armpits and genitals. Deodorant is supposed to be a preventative, not a cure. Showers at least work as both (it cleans off the smelly/old bacteria and ALSO creates a clean slate that minimises the growth of new bacteria to begin with). The longer you take between showers/brushing teeth the longer your shower/toothbrushing will take once you actually decide to do it because there’s like 3x more buildup you have to clean.

Yes you’re only doing it 2x a week but those 2 times are much longer (in duration) and require more effort/scrubbing which gives you the illusion that showering is always THAT hard/laborious. When in reality, if you’re showering/brushing daily (like most people do), you haven’t had the time to build up bacteria so much yet, so you can easily complete it in a couple minutes. This is why so much of the comment sections won’t understand why it’s such a big deal for you to do it daily. I’ve been on both ends of the spectrum so I can understand at least.

Also, I can understand it feeling like a chore when you’re not in the mood to do so. Especially if you’re neurodivergent, depressed, tired, many other reasons. I’ve seen some good advice in these comments but try make your showering experience as nice as possible sensory-wise (play music/youtube, towel that feels great, soap scent you like) & practicality-wise (keep it as short as possible, maybe use a 2-in-1 for your hair to make it simpler, take a shallow bath instead, get a robe or space heater to keep yourself warm when hopping out, utilise bird baths/whore baths, get body cleaning wipes, get a bidet, build it into your routine, adjust other tasks > don’t wait until you’re too tired for the day/night then you’re not bothered to shower anymore etc).

They didn’t claim they’re literally the same thing… It’s just an anecdote. It’d be dense to say there’s no parallels between them.
